There are functining steam railways in ther cuntries: turists in France can g fr a ride in Brittany; s can visitrs travelling t the Dandenng Ranges in Australia. But n ther cuntry has a heritage railway sectr anywhere near as energetic as the UK's, where mre than 170 services crss arund 600 miles f track and call at 460 statins.
Just a few years after the first f these railways pened at Talyllyn in nrth Wales, in1951, a fictinal Welsh steam engine became the main character in the children's televisin serial Ivr the Engine. On lines riginally built fr slate quarries(石板采石场), nrth Wales still has the biggest grup f steam railways, but they exist in all fur natins f the UK, typically perating seasnal timetables in turist areas. 21. B 文中第二段 “… the mre pieces f the picture we have, the better we can wrk tgether t prtect what makes these places special.” 因此,选项B(T preserve histric places)是正确的。
D(By sharing memries f a prtected English site)是正确的。
因此,选项C(The wner's supprt)是正确的。
C(He used his spelling ability t help thers)是正确的。
B(It strengthened his cnfidence)是正确的。
这意味着为了准备今天的拼写比赛,我们应该努力提高相关的技能, 因此选项D(Try t imprve relevant skills)是正确的。
A(They are active acrss the cuntries)是正确的。
因此,选项C(T shw the ppularity f steam railways)是正确的。
这表明志愿者对于保持遗产铁路的活力至关重要,因此选项 A(Vlunteers help t keep heritage railways alive)是正确的。
D(It was attacked by tw different animals)是正确的。
B(The methd f the research)是正确的。
因此,选项B(Offering insights int ancient fd webs)是正确的。
选项C(Shark and Crcdile Ate Unlucky Sea Cw)直接反映了文章的核心内容, 即海牛被鲨鱼和鳄鱼捕食的情况,因此是最佳标题。
C(This may be especially useful fr parrts)是正确的。
因此,选项 F(D nt raise yur vice in respnse t yur bird's vlume r tne)是正确的。

Their adventure had been terrifying, but it had als been a test ament t their bnd and their survival skills.
