    Students will understand and be able t use the sentence structures related t the tpic f persnal changes, such as "I used t be..., but nw "

    Imprve students' reading skills, including skimming, scanning and detailed reading.
    Enable students t describe their wn r thers' past and present situatins using the target language.
    3. Emtinal Objectives
    Help students realize that everyne can change and grw, and encurage them t face challenges bravely and embrace psitive changes.

    Understand the main idea and details f the passage.
    Master the usage f the key wrds and phrases related t persnal changes.
    Use the target language t describe persnal changes.

    Step 1: Lead-in (5 minutes)
    1. Shw sme pictures f famus peple's past and present, and ask students t guess wh they are and describe the changes.
    Fr example, shw pictures f a celebrity when they were yung and nw, and guide students t say, "He/She used t be..., but nw he/she "
    2. Ask students t think abut their wn changes and share with the class.
    Step 2: Pre-reading (5 minutes)
    1. Present the title f the passage "Frm Shy Girl t Pp Star" and ask students t predict what the passage might be abut.
    2. Intrduce sme backgrund infrmatin abut the tpic and key wrds such as "backgrund, interview, Asian".
    Step 3: While-reading (20 minutes)
    1. Skimming (3 minutes)
    Ask students t read the passage quickly and answer the questin: Wh is the main character in the passage?
    2. Scanning (5 minutes)
    Have students scan the passage and find ut the main events r changes in the character's life. Ask them t cmplete a table n the blackbard r PPT:

    3. Detailed Reading (12 minutes)
    Divide the class int grups f fur. Each grup is assigned a paragraph t read carefully and discuss the fllwing questins:
    What prblems did the girl have in the past?
    Hw did she deal with thse prblems?
    What advice wuld yu give t smene like her?
    After the discussin, invite representatives frm each grup t share their answers.
    Step 4: Pst-reading (10 minutes)
    1. Language Pints (3 minutes)
    Explain the key wrds, phrases and sentence structures in the passage, such as "dare t d sth., in public, deal with, require". Have students make sentences using these wrds and phrases.
    2. Discussin (4 minutes)
    Ask students t think abut the fllwing questins:
    D yu think it's gd t change? Why r why nt?
    What kind f changes d yu want t make in the future?
    Encurage students t express their pinins freely and have a grup discussin.
    3. Summary (3 minutes)
    Summarize the main cntent f the passage and the language pints learned. Ask students t retell the stry f the girl's changes in their wn wrds.
    Step 5: Hmewrk (5 minutes)
    1. Write a shrt passage abut yur wn changes r smene else's changes, using the target language.
    2. Search fr mre infrmatin abut persnal grwth and changes and share it with the class next time.
