一、Teaching Objectives
1. Language knwledge bjectives
Students will be able t master the key wrds and phrases such as "utging", "shy", "funny", "serius", "quiet", "frm time t time", and "used t d sth.".
Students will understand and be able t use the structure "used t" t describe peple's past states r habits.
2. Language skills bjectives
Thrugh the picture-filling activity in 1a, students can imprve their ability t bserve and describe the changes f peple's appearance and persnality.
By ding the listening exercise in 1b, students can enhance their listening cmprehensin skills and the ability t catch key infrmatin related t "used t".
During the ral practice in 1c, students can practice using the "used t" structure t express their wn r thers' past experiences fluently in pairs r grups.
3. Emtinal attitudes and values bjectives
Help students realize the changes in themselves and thers ver time, and develp a psitive attitude twards grwth and change.
Encurage students t bravely share their past and present, and enhance their cnfidence and cmmunicatin skills.

1. Task-based teaching methd: Design varius tasks such as picture-filling, listening cmprehensin, and ral cmmunicatin t help students achieve the teaching bjectives step by step.
2. Cmmunicative teaching methd: Encurage students t cmmunicate and interact with each ther in pairs r grups t imprve their language applicatin ability.
3. Audi-visual teaching methd: Use pictures, audi materials and multimedia curseware t stimulate students' interest and make the teaching cntent mre intuitive and vivid.
四、Teaching Prcedures
(一)Warming-up (5 minutes)
1. Shw a shrt vide abut a persn's grwth jurney, including changes in appearance and persnality frm childhd t adulthd.
2. Ask students t share their feelings after watching the vide and lead them t think abut the changes in themselves and thers.
(二)Presentatin (10 minutes)
1. Present the key wrds
Shw sme pictures f peple with different appearances and persnalities n the PPT, such as a shrt persn, a tall persn, an utging persn, and a shy persn.
Present the wrds "utging", "shy", "funny", "serius", "quiet", etc. and ask students t read them alud and try t remember their meanings.
2. Intrduce the "used t" structure
Pint t the pictures f peple's past and present and say sentences like "He used t be shrt. Nw he is tall." and "She used t be shy. Nw she is utging."
Explain the meaning and usage f "used t" and emphasize that it is used t describe past states r habits that are different frm the present.
(三)Practice 1a (8 minutes)
1. Shw the pictures in 1a n the PPT and explain the task t students: They need t fill in the blanks with the given wrds t describe the peple's past and present appearances.
2. Students wrk individually t cmplete the task.
3. Invite several students t share their answers and explain their reasning.
(四)Listening 1b (8 minutes)
1. Befre listening, preview the questins and ptins in 1b with students and predict the pssible cntent.
2. Play the audi recrding fr the first time. Students listen carefully and try t catch the key infrmatin.
3. Play the audi recrding fr the secnd time. Students cmplete the exercises in 1b.
4. Check the answers tgether and play the audi recrding again if necessary fr students t crrect their mistakes.
(五)Oral Practice 1c (12 minutes)
1. Divide students int pairs r grups.
2. Present sme sample sentences and prmpts n the PPT t help students start the cnversatin. Fr example: "I used t have shrt hair. Nw I have lng hair."
3. Students take turns t talk abut their past and present using the "used t" structure. Encurage them t ask and answer questins, and share their experiences.
4. Invite several pairs r grups t present their cnversatins t the class.
(六)Summary and Hmewrk (2 minutes)
1. Summarize the key pints f this lessn, including the key wrds, phrases, and the "used t" structure.
2. Assign hmewrk: Ask students t write a shrt cmpsitin abut their wn r a friend's past and present changes using the "used t" structure.
