Thanks t this new hands-free suitcase, carrying arund heavy luggage may sn becme a thing f the past. Designed by an Israeli cmpany NUA Rbtics, this “smart” suitcase will fllw yu everywhere yu g.
The carry-n suitcase, currently a prttype (雏形), cnnects t a smart phne app via Bluetth. It has a built-in camera sensr that can “see” yu and fllw yu arund n flat surfaces like airprt flrs. It cmes with an anti-theft alarm t prevent smene carrying it away when yu’re nt lking and it has a backup battery that yu can use t charge all yur devices.
“It can fllw and carry things fr peple arund while cmmunicating with their smart phne, and aviding bstacles,” explained Alex Libman, funder f NUA Rbtics. “We’re cmbining sensr netwrk, cmputer visin, and rbtics. S if yu dwnlad ur app, press the fllw-me buttn, the luggage recgnizes the specific user and knws t fllw and cmmunicate.”
NUA is still testing the device and trying t imprve features like speed and custmizatin (定制), but they hpe t make the suitcase available t custmers in a year’s time. If it prves successful, they want t use the Bluetth pairing technlgy t autmate (使自动化) lts f ther devices, like shpping carts at the supermarket. These devices are especially meant t be useful t the physically disabled and elderly. “Any bject can be smart and rbtic,” Libman said, “We want t bring rbts int everyday life.”
The Israeli tech cmpany made it clear that the finished prduct will lk just like a regular suitcase. They’re planning t partner with a carry-n luggage maker, since the device that makes it “smart” weighs just 2.5 punds and can be fitted n ld-fashin luggage.
