F. Sctt Fitzgerald was a famus American writer knwn fr his incredible stries. Brn n September 24, 1896, he was nce a student f St. Paul Academy, the Newman Schl and attended Princetn University fr a shrt while. This Side f Paradise, his first nvel, was published in 1920.Encuraged by its success, Fitzgerald began t spend mre time n his writing. Then he cntinued with the nvel The Beautiful and Damned (1922), a cllectin (作品集) f shrt stries Tales f the Jazz Age (1922), and a play The Vegetable (1923). But his greatest success was The Great Gatsby, published in 1925, which quickly brught him praise frm the literary wrld. Yet this successful nvel failed t give him the needed financial security. Then, in 1926, he published anther cllectin f shrt stries All the Sad Yung Men.
Zelda had served as a majr inspiratin fr several f Fitzgerald’s characters, like Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby, reflecting Zelda’s beauty and charm. Hwever, by 1930, his wife had her first mental breakdwn and went t a Swiss clinic. This caused Fitzgerald deep emtinal pain, which deeply influenced his creative prcess and the themes f his wrks. During this perid, he cmpleted anther nvel Tender Is the Night (1934), mirrring Zelda’s struggles with mental health.
