Step 2 Presentatin & Practice

This activity is t prmpt Ss t think abut their favurite band,bk and mvie s that Ss can review what they have learned in Sectin A and persnalize the tpic. Ss can share their answers with their partners.
1b Befre listening
The T may lead in t the activity by asking Ss t describe what
they see in the picture. Prmpt Ss t guess the relatinship between
the tw peple. Draw their attentin t the chart and have Ss wrk
in pairs t predict the answers. These predictins may be written
n a separate piece f paper and checked against the actual
answers after activities 1b and 1c are cmpleted.
1b While listening
The T can play the recrding and Ss finish the task in 1b. Then the T can invite sme Ss t share answers t check.

1c While listening
This activity is t give Ss practice in listening fr details. The T can encurage Ss t recall what they heard in activity 1b and attempt activity 1c withut listening t the recrding again. When Ss have filled in their answers, the T can play the recrding fr Ss t check their answers.

The purpse is t activate the memry in students' brain, recall the learned wrds, phrases and sentence patterns, and pave the way fr listening activities. At the same time, students' respnse prcess is als t learn and cnslidate language knwledge in applicatin. The rle f teachers in this link is als very imprtant. They shuld be gd at prviding tpics and mastering the rhythm and difficulty levels f the discussin and adjusting the discussin atmsphere. We shuld nt nly encurage excellent students t express actively, but als pay attentin t the students with average r weak fundatin and give them the pprtunity t express, even if they are just asked t repeat the statements f ther students r express whether they agree with thers.
