    4. Enable students t figure ut the writing style and main idea f the passage by analyzing the structure.
    5. Enable students t express their wn ideas n the given tpics thrugh deep reading and critical thinking.

    Guide students t find the tpic sentence f each paragraph t catch the main idea f the passage quickly.
    Help students learn hw t express the reasns and meanings f celebrating the festivals.

    Step 1: Warming-up (5 minutes)
    Shw students sme pictures f different festivals and ask students what festivals they are.Watch a vide and let students answer the questin: Why d yu think peple celebrate different festivals?
    Discuss these questins in grups and then fill in the table with names f the festivals and reasns fr celebrating the festivals.
    Step 2: Pre-reading (5 minutes)
    Ask students t predict the cntent f the text accrding t the title and the pictures.
    Discuss what festivals are the pictures abut, what "we" refer t in the title f the text, and what they think the text will be abut.
    Step 3: Reading (20 minutes)
    Task 1: Reading fr main ideas and structure.
    Ask students t skim the text quickly, find ut the tpic sentence f each paragraph, and then divide the text int several parts.
    Task 2: Reading fr cmprehensin.
    Give students ne minute t read the first and last paragraph carefully, and then answer the fllwing questins: Why d we celebrate festivals? What is the genre f the text?
    Give students several minutes t read the whle text carefully, and then answer the fllwing questins fr each paragraph.
    Step 4: Pst-reading (10 minutes)
    Task 3: Reading fr appreciatin.
    Analyze the characteristics f the argumentative writing.
    Task 4: Reading fr deep and critical thinking.
    Grup discussin: Find ut mre abut the custms that have been changed in the picture. Explre the reasns and shw yur wn feelings.
    Step 5: Summary (5 minutes)
    Review the key wrds in each paragraph.
    Draw a mind map t summarize this text.
    Assignment:
    Write a shrt passage abut yur favrite festival, including what yur favrite festival is, hw yu celebrate it, and why yu think peple celebrate the festival.
