Abrad, Fukushima’s legacy(遗留问题) is nw wrsening the regin’s infamusand disputatius(有争议的)geplitics.
The enrmus task f making the damaged plant safe cntinues. At the heart f the cleanup is a questin f what t d with the plluted water used t cl melted fuel and fuel pieces— r which has fallen as rain, r flwed int the site as grundwater. An advanced filtratin(过滤) prcess knwn as ALPS remves 62 f 64 radinuclides (放射性核素)frm the water t acceptable levels. It wants t release 500 Olympic-sized pls’ wrth f the water int the cean ver three decades. Japan’s gvernment backs it.
S what’s the prblem? Lcal fishermen and turism peratives fear anther knck t the ld Fukushima brand. Even as it is, China and Suth Krea ban seafd frm Fukushima and neighburing areas. Dear Ryan,
I’m really excited t be infrmed that we are ging t start an English fficial accunt, which is definitely a wnderful idea. As fr prpsals, I’d like t recmmend “Students’ Vice” as a distinctive clumn.
As studying is always students’ tp pririty, we students are under great pressure and lack pprtunities t be listened t. Why nt help students express their inner feelings and have a gd md t embrace the tugh yet bright future? This clumn, I prmise, is bund t be a precius utlet and a stepping stne t cmmunicating fluently in English.
That’s all fr my advice! Thank yu!
