Step I 学习理解
活动一:感知与注意(Brainstrm)
Ask students t wrk in grups and brainstrm sme gd mrals, virtues and sme fables r stries abut them in Chinese traditinal culture.
活动二:获取与梳理(Predict and read)
1.Ask students t read the title and try t predict what stry is mainly abut?
2.Ask students t read the stry and answer the fllwing questins:
(1)What was the kings idea fr teaching an imprtant lessn t his peple?
(2)What was the respnse frm mst f the peple?
(3)What did the yung girl think and d when she saw the cins?
(4)What d yu think this fable is trying t tell us?
(5)Was the king wise?Why r why nt?
Suggested answers:
(1) He placed a large stne in the middle f the main street and hid gld cins under the stne. Then he hid behind a huge maple tree and watched t see if anyne mve it.
(2) Mst f the peple cmplained abut the stne but nbdy made an attempt t mve it.
(3) She thught she must find the wner f the gld cins.
(4) It is trying t tell us that we shuld all take respnsibility fr ur cmmunity, sciety and cuntry.
(5) ①Yes, he was. Because as a ruler, he shuld pay attentin t his peple’s mrals and virtues. Only having gd mrals and virtues culd make his peple live with each ther in harmny, and his cuntry may be in cntrl and prsperus.
②N, he wasn’t. Because few peple learnt frm his experiment. In the text, the milkman, the wman with water, and the ther villagers cmplained abut the stne and cntinued n their jurney. It seemed that the respnsibility f the majrity is t little just because they are busy with their wn things.
