Step 3 While-listening part 1
Activity 1 Paul and Meilin are talking abut the cming hliday. Listen t the first part f the cnversatin and chse the crrect answers.

Wrk in pairs and make a cnversatin. Chse a travel destinatin and think abut what yu wuld d t prepare t travel there. Share yur travel plans with yu partner and then call t make reservatins.

A: Hi, Julie! D yu have any plans fr the hliday?
B: Hi, Wang Lei! Yes, I’m planning t travel t Jiuzhaigu. Actually, I’ve just finished making the travel arrangements.
A: Oh, gd idea! Jiuzhaigu is an extremely beautiful place.
B: Yes, I’m lking frward t seeing the clurful lakes, amazing waterfalls, and beautiful plants.
A: Hw are yu getting ready fr yur trip?
B: Well, since we plan t g camping, I need t get sme gd hiking clthes, and I als need a sleeping bag and a tent.
A: Hw d yu plan n getting there?
B: Well, we’re planning t take the train and then rent a car, s we have t get train tickets and cntact a car rental agency.
A: And then what are yu ging t eat while camping?
B: Ah! That’s anther prblem entirely! We are getting a camp stve, and then we are bringing with us sme dried fd that is light t carry. We’ll als need t bring ur wn water.
A: That all sunds like a gd plan. Lks like yu really knw what yu’re ding.
B: Thanks!

A: Happy Htel. Hw can I help yu?
B: I’d like t bk a rm.
A: Certainly, sir. On what dates wuld yu like t stay?
B: Frm the 4th t the 7th f Nvember.
A: We have rms with 2 single beds, duble bed, and king bed, available. Which d yu prefer?
B: I’d like a king bed, please. Oh, and culd I have a nn-smking rm?
A: All f ur rms are nn-smking. D yu have any ther special requests?
B: Yes, I’d like t have a rm with a view. Oh, and a quiet rm. I’ll really need t get sme rest.
A: That can certainly be arranged.
B: And des yur htel have Internet?
A: There is free WiFi thrughut the htel fr guests, and we als have cmputers and Internet in ur business centre where yu can use at n extra charge. May I have yur name, sir?
B: Jhn Peters.
A: Thank yu, Mr. Peters. S, I have yu dwn fr a rm with a view and a king-size bed frm the 4th t the 7th f Nvember. Check-in time is after 12:30 p.m., and check-ut time is befre 11:00 a.m. All f ur rms cme with a cmplimentary breakfast. May I ask hw yu wuld like t pay?
B: By credit card.
A: OK, wait just a secnd, please.
