Fr many years, scientists and animal lvers have wrked t make the wrld safer fr endangered species (濒危物种).Nw, there is smething that needs prtectin frm these prtected animals—a famus French cheese called Rquefrt, knwn as the “King f Cheeses”.
Rquefrt is made frm sheep’s milk in the suthern part f the French muntains.Farmers have been making Rquefrt fr thusands f years, and they fllw many rules when making it, t be sure that it is dne in the traditinal way.One f the rules is that they must let their sheep live freely in the muntains.
Hwever, fllwing these rules has becme very dangerus.Wlves have mved int the area, and they have killed 62 sheep.The wlves are an endangered species, and have nt been seen in the French muntains since the 1920s.N ne is allwed t kill the wlves, but the farmers are nw saying it is impssible fr their sheep t live in the same muntains as the wlves.Farmers have dgs t prtect the sheep and have als built electric fences (电栅栏), but they say they will nt have enugh mney t cntinue making Rquefrt nce they have spent it all n keeping their sheep safe.Many peple have said that wlves that attack (袭击) sheep shuld be killed, since they have becme a threat t the farmers’ jbs.Others think that anyne wh wants the wlves killed is trying t make them becme extinct(灭绝的).
