Researchers rated mental health based n a survey. It asked respndents hw many days in the previus mnth their mental health was "nt gd" due t stress,depressin r ther prblems with emtins.
Peple wh played team sprts like sccer and basketball reprted 22.3%fewer pr mental-health days than thse wh didn't exercise. Thse wh ran r jgged fared 19%better,while thse wh did husehld chres 11.8%better.
They fund team sprts may have an extra benefit because f the scial cmpnent, and yga r Tai Chi can prmte mindfulness, which is ften tuted as beneficial fr mental health.
The researchers als fund that thse wh exercise between 30 and 60 minutes had the best mental health, with 45 minutes the ptimal duratin. Exercising three t five times a week crrelated with fewer dark days. "Over 90 minutes f exercise and there isn't an extra benefit," Dr Chekrud said.
The study analysed the exercise habits and mental health f 1.2 millin US adults, based n self-reprted answers t survey questins frm the Centers fr Disease Cntrl and Preventin. It wasn't a randmised cntrlled study and just an assciatin between exercise and better mental health. It can't explain if pr mental health causes peple t exercise less r exercise causes peple t have better mental health.

There were at least tw classes f Grade 8 girls sitting n the side f the hill when I bldly(冒失地)presented my nte. The PE teacher asked me why my mther's signature lked s messy. What I said next might be the finest example f just hw stupid I was when I was 13:“It's messy because she signed it while she was driving.”
My clasmates giggled(咯咯笑)nervusly. I thught maybe I had pushed things t far but wasn't prepared fr what happened next at all. The teacher grabbed my ear and dragged me all the way up the millins f stairs,thrugh the miles f hallways,and int the principal's ffice. That was where my memries frm junir high gym class ended.
The next year I went t the first day f Grade 9 gym with a psitive utlk,high hpes,and gd intentins. But all I ended up develping was the habit f hiding in the girls' bathrm fr the duratin f the class.
