    Chinese ancient petry was the heart and sul f Chinese anient literature. Pems and sngs have been the means f entertainment f men frm the earliest times nwards Recrds f Chinese ancient petry have largely been fund, frm which a large amunt f knwledge f ancient petry f China can be btained. Chinese ancient petry was primarily written t be chanted r sung.
    The petic persna (表面形象) is a feature f classical Chinese petry. The persna appears when the pem is written frm the viewpint f sme ther persn. Sme pems are cmments n the then cntemprary sciety and life. Images and symblism are deeply assciated with Chinese ancient petry. Chinese ancient pems, althugh apparently simple in the first reading, have deeper and greater meanings when read intensively.
    The earliest Chinese ancient petry begins with The Bk f Sngs which is a cllectin f 305 pems. It was the first cmprehensive cmpilatin (辑) f Chinese ancient pems. Each pem in The Bk f Sngs was set t music and culd be sung. Flk sngs made up the mst part f the bk!Cnfucius, the great ancient philspher, was fnd f this bk. It was als the accepted textbk f the Cnfucian schl.
    Chinese petic histry is extremely lng and clrful. The Tang dynasty, the glden age f Chinese ancient petry, prduced many famus pems. Three Hundred Pems f the Tang Dynasty, was cmpiled by Heng Tang Tui Shi f the Qing dynasty. This was used fr very many years t teach primary students.
    Almst everything is the subject f Chinese ancient petry including marriage, agriculture, curtship(求爱), srrw and jys, rmance, heric deeds and s n. Generally, each pem is usually cmpsed f lines f fur, five r seven syllables. Translatins f Chinese ancient pems are available in bks and als nline.     Sme writers remained passinate abut their day jbs and were reluctant t leave them even they became famus. Lewis Carrll, the writer f Alice’s Adventures in Wnderland, was actually a mathematician. He wrte a lt f bks n mathematics under his real name, Charles Ddgsn. The day jb that tk up nearly half f his lifetime was being a teacher at Christ Church, the largest cllege f the University f Oxfrd. He taught there fr 26 years until his death.

He used t wrk as a surveyr, a shipman, a teacher, a lecturer and a custms inspectr.
