活动一:英语释义
1.Ask students t write dwn the wrd that matches each definitin.
Suggested answers:

2.Ask students t find the sentences cntaining these wrds in the text.
Suggested answers:

【设计意图】现阶段,我国高中英语课堂上大多数还是采用中文释义的方式进行词汇教学,这使得学生在学习词汇的过程中严重受母语干扰,致使学习效率不高且在使用过程中频频犯错。将英文释义应用于词汇教学中,有助于提高学生对词汇内涵的理解,也有助于提高学生对英语句意的理解,帮助学生形成英语语感和语言意识,提高学生英语思维能力。
活动二:学习常见后缀
Intrduce sme cmmn suffixes t students.
(1)-in、-sin、-tin、-atin、-itin表示状态、结果、动作等,如:actin、slutin、cnclusin、destructin、expressin、crrectin。
(2)-ment表示物品和物质名称等,如:instrument、equipment、attachment。
(3)-able、-ible有“能……的,可以……的”等含义,如:mvable、drinkable、changeable、visible。
(4)-ize、ise表示“变成;使……化”等含义,如:
mdernize、mechanize、demcratize。
【设计意图】让学生学习相关的词根知识,有助于学生正确应用单词的形式。

活动三:内化与运用

Ask students t read the sentences in Activity 2 n Page 4 and guess the meaning f the underlined wrds and then fill in the blanks with wrds that have the same rts.
