3. Why des the authr chse t use different frms f verbs in the tw sentences?
In sentence (a), a wman is swimming. In ther wrds, the wman des the actin f swimming. S the authr uses -ing. But in sentence (b), peple are frightened. As a result, passive vice is used. S the authr uses -ed.
