    On a recent afternn, sme 60 years after they graduated frm grammar schl, Kathleen Rys, 72, and her sister Lrraine O’Kelly, 70, sat dwn and had a meal with a classmate, Bruce Smit, 71, fr the first time.

    The wmen said nne f the teachers cared abut it. “We just kept it t urselves,” said Lrraine.
    “Over the years”, Tammy Smit said, “Bruce wuld just start t cry at times. He’d wnder what happened t the sisters, if they landed OK.” One day a few weeks ag, Tammy tk t the Internet and fund Mary O’Kelly, Lrraine’s daughter, and then Tammy ffered t set up a meeting. The idea f revisiting the pain was nt well-received by Kathleen, wh had never married, let alne gne n a date. It tk sme cnvincing, but Lrraine finally gt Kathleen t agree t meet with Bruce.
    Bruce brke int tears. “I’m s ashamed, s embarrassed,” he said. “But I’m s happy yu’re still here and that I can finally aplgize.” He said he hped his aplgy wuld encurage thers t seek frgiveness fr the pain they had made n thers. Lrraine said, “This is a beautiful thing. It’s just wnderful that a persn frm 60 years ag can ask fr frgiveness. It’s like a miracle t us, It’s a healing t us.”
