The grammar fcuses n the verb-ed frm as adverbial, which ften refers t a past actin r express a passive meaning. Students are expected t learn what the verb-ed as adverbial and hw t use it. As fr the vcabulary-learning part, students will learn wrds used t describe behaviur twards different peple.

Activity 1
Play a guessing game t aruse students’ interest in grammar and ask them t bserve and summarize the characteristics f the tw sentences used in the tw situatins.

Ntes:
(1) The subject f the main clause is the same as the subject f the subrdinate clause.

Guide the students t summarize the usage f adverbials in the past participle.
(1) The students cmpare the tw grups f examples and find the same functin in the first half f the sentences: t act as adverbials.
(2) When the subject f the clause is the same as the subject f the clause, the subject f the clause is usually mitted, leaving nly the past participle f the predicate.
(3) When a participle is used as an adverbial, it can indicate the time, reasn, degree and result f the predicate actin.
