    Backgrund Infrmatin
    Sir Nichlas WintnSir Nichlas Wintn (1909-2015) was brn in Lndn. On the eve f Wrld War II, he was just a brker at the Lndn Stck Exchange, but he single-handedly established an rganisatin t aid children frm Jewish families at risk frm the Nazis and managed t rescue 669 children frm Czechslvakia. Then he fund them hmes in Britain t help them escape the massacre. The
    Sir Nichlas Wintnsecret was kept fr half a century until his wife fund his jurnal when a televisin prgramme episde made by BBC was bradcast in 1988, and nly then did his rescue achievements finally becme knwn t the wrld. The British press called him the “British Oskar Schindler” and the children he rescued, “Wintn’s children”.
    Oskar SchindlerOskar Schindler (1908-1974) was a German businessman, wh is praised fr saving the lives f apprximately 1,100 Jews during Wrld War II by emplying them in his factries. He is respected by Jews and peple wh desire justice and equality all ver the wrld. The wrld-famus film Schindler’s List, directed by Steven Spielberg, was based n Oskar Schindler’s stry.
