Surprisingly, finding hidden writing n very ld dcuments isn’t all that unusual. In fact, there’s even a special name fr dcuments like this: a palimpsest (再生羊皮纸卷).

The writing erased ff the parchment cant be seen directly but scientists have learned ways t use special lighting t reveal the riginal writing. But it’s unusual fr yung cllege students t discver palimpsests.
Last year, first-year students at the rchester Institute f Technlgy tk part in a class that brught tgether many students t take n a prject as a grup. The prject was t build a special camera system that culd take pictures using different kinds f light.
