A blt f lightning crssed the darkened sky, accmpanied by a deafening thunder clap The strm was here. As the first cld raindrp slid dwn her neck, Lina’s mind returnee t her current prblem. She was stuck here by herself. She just hped she didn’t becme as frgtten as the island. The thught f it sent a chill(寒意)dwn her back.
Suddenly, Lina sptted smething in the water. It was a bat, and inside it were Celia, Marie, and Marie’s dad, wh was steering thrugh the fast flwing water. As the bat apprached, they saw Lina waving and the wrried expressins n their faces turned t relief.

(2020 . 辽宁抚顺高一期中)Researchers have recrded penguins making sunds underwater fr the first time-the first time such behavir has been identified in seabirds. These animals, like ther seabirds, are highly vcal n land. They are knwn t cmmunicate when their heads are abve the water in the cean, pssibly fr the purpses f grup frmatin.
Hwever, until the latest study--published in the jurnal Zlgical Science--it was nt knwn whether penguins made sunds underwater, like sme ther air-breathing marine predatrs, such as whales and dlphins. Fr their research, a team f scientists led by Andrea frm Nelsn Mandela university in Suth Africa, wanted t investigate this issue. T d s, they fitted adult penguins frm three species with vide cameras featuring built-in micrphnes.
T the surprise f Andrea and her clleagues, the team recrded a ttal f 203 underwater vcalizatins frm the penguins in the underwater ftage they captured ver a mnth-lng perid in 2019. These are the first recrdings f seabirds prducing vcalizatins underwater. “I culdn’t believe it. I had t replay it many times,” Andrea said.
The vcalizatins that the team recrded-which sund like rapid whps--were very shrt in duratin, lasting abut 0. 06 secnds n average and all f these sunds were emitted(出发) during dives in which the animals were searching fr fd. Currently, it is nt clear why the penguins are making these sunds; hwever, they nly prduce them while hunting. In fact, mre than 50 percent f the vcalizatins were immediately preceded by an acceleratin mvement r fllwed by an attempt t hunt.
Accrding t the researchers, this suggests that the sunds are related t hunting behavir-especially because the penguins tend t be alne when they make them, indicating that cmmunicatin was nt the purpse. The researchers guess that the penguins may be using the vcalizatins t stun (使昏迷 ) their prey. Hwever, much mre research is required t determine why the penguins make these sunds, the scientists nte。

    A. By recrding penguins sunds n land.
    B. By fixing electrnic devices n the penguins.
    C. By bserving penguins activities underwater.
    D. By catching different kinds f adult penguins.
    5. What can we infer frm Andrea’s wrds in Paragraph 3?
    A. Penguins’ sunds are t lw t hear.
    B. She dubts if penguins culd make sunds.
    C. Penguins seldm make sunds underwater.
    D. It’s nt easy t btain penguins' sunds underwater.
    6. When d penguins prbably prduce sunds underwater?
    A. When they take a deep breath.
    B. When they dive t hunt fr fd.
    C. When they teach their babies diving.

根据第四段最后一句中的 hidden in a heavily wded side stream f the river可推知,这个岛是被茂密的森林围绕着的,故选C。
根据第六段中“Celia tk Marie’s side,as she always did.Lina had explded and yelled at them t just leave.
根据第七段最后两句“She just hped she didn't becme as frgtten as the island. The thught f it sent a chill dwn her back.”
根据第二段中的 they fitted adult penguins frm three species with vide cameras featuring built-in micrphnes可知,他们给三种成年企鹅安装了内置麦克风的摄像机,由此可知,安德里亚的团队是通过在企鹅身上安装电子设备而进行研究的,故B项正确。
根据第三段中的“These are the first recrdings Andrea said.”
根据第四段中的“And all f these sunds.while hunting.”
I decided t ski t the Nrth ple ski 350 miles t the nrth Ple.

通过题目中的“the Lne star State"可以将答案定位到文章的第一段的“While visiting the Lne Star State this summer,dn’t miss visiting sme f these attractins and taking part in sme f Texas’ best summer vacatin activities.”
There are sea life shws, adventure camps, thrilling rides and a water park.a great many activities are waiting fr yu at Sea Wrld."
Suth Padre Island is a windsurfer’s dream,南帕德里岛是风帆冲浪爱好者魂牵梦绕之地。

根据下文“This way yu'll avid ending up with five different ptat salads that g uneaten.”
根据下文中的“If guests knw which glass is theirs, they dn’t need t reach fr anther ne”可知,上一句应说明具体的办法,故G项“在瓶子上面贴上标签以便于人们在它们上面写上他们的名字”符合语境。
根据段落标题“Use Renewable Light Surces”和下文“As the sun ges dwn, illuminate yur party space with LED lighting and slar-pwered decratins.”
