Develping ideas分为两部分：第一部分是一篇名为“The Imprtance f humur（《幽默的重要性》）”的议论文，文章以美国著名作家马克·吐温和我国著名作家林语堂的故事作为例证，来强调幽默的重要性。本文按照议论文的顺序组织文章结构，先提出论点：幽默是人类行为中最基本也最重要的，接着用马克·吐温和林语堂的故事来佐证论点，最后进一步强调论点，得出结论。第二部分Writing abut a cmedian通过介绍喜剧演员查理·卓别林的贡献，引导学生学会描写人物：先是总体概述人物的主要信息，包括职业、所做贡献以及取得的成就；接下来陈述自己喜欢这个人物的原因，并介绍他的代表作；最后对人物进行简要评价。
Presenting ideas部分通过问答的形式，引导学生学习单口喜剧表演的内容，了解单口喜剧的表演形式和布局过程，然后自主创作并表演，让学生在真实的场景中掌握所学内容。
课时目标：
1.掌握本课时的重点单词 emtive、remark、interactin、cncept、cruel、whisper、illuminate、cmplicated、cnclude和短语 put sb n the spt、tell ff.、fall behind、thrw new light n以及重要句型，并能熟练运用。
2.通过阅读《幽默的重要性》一文，了解作家马克·吐温和林语堂的幽默故事，引导学生了解幽默的重要性，理清议论文的基本结构和掌握例证法的运用。
3.引导学生通过观察语篇，发现人物介绍的基本内容、文体特征和写作手法，并能运用所学知识介绍一位熟悉和喜爱的喜剧人物。
4.通过了解幽默在交际中的恰当使用，领悟幽默的内涵，理解交际技巧，巧用幽默，做一个受人喜爱的拥有高情商的人，建立良好的人际交往关系。

【设计意图】通过图片与简短的问答，引发学生的思考，引入对马克·吐温和林语堂写作风格和特点的思考。然后讲述发生在他们身上的故事，了解两位作家的处事风格，以及幽默睿智的社交方式，顺利导入阅读内容。

【设计意图】复述的过程是将学过的文章经过加工处理，用自己的语言，以口头形式进行表述。这种表述不是对已知材料简单地、机械地重复，而是经过自己大脑言语中枢的“加工”，创造性地再现已知语言材料的内容。教师要在每个学生复述完毕后给予中肯的评价及热情的鼓励，同时纠正一些错误。通过反馈，复述者本人及其他学生都能了解到自已存在的长处及不足。大家可以分享成功的喜悦，互相学习，互相借鉴，使以后的课文复述变得更好、更精彩。
注意：该文章是一篇议论文，不同于以往常见的记叙文文本，因此可采用“多人复述”的形式。根据速读部分的表格提示，先由一个学生复述论点，再分别由两个学生复述马克·吐温和林语堂的故事，最后找一个学生概述结论，从而完整复述课文。
