1. can,culd 的用法
1)表能力,有“能”、“会”、“能够”的意思
— Can yu drive a car?
— Yes, I can.
2)表允许,在口语中代替 may,有“可以”的意 思

情态动词表示说话人的各种态度,如允许、可能、能力、义务、意志、预测、必然、必要等。
can,culd 的用法3)表示可能性,常用于否定句和疑问句

2. may, might 的用法①在陈述句中表示“允许”,在疑问句中表示“请求允许”,汉语可译为“可以”。有时 might 可以代替 may,这种用法的 might 并无时态意义,只是语气更加婉转。May I cme in?Yu may take anyne if yu like.Might I ask fr a pht f yur family?Yu might as well tell me what yu want t say.
2. may, might 的用法②表示推测,汉语可译为“可能”,用于肯定或否定句。might 也可以代替 may 表达同样的意思,且没有时态意义。I think that may be the prblem.
3. shuld 的用法① 表示责任、义务, 汉语译为“应该”We shuld bey the regulatins f ur schl.
② 表示推测,汉语也译为“应该”Their basketball team has lts f excellent players, s if there is n unexpected thing t happen, their team shuld win the champinship.
3. shuld 的 用法③ 表惊讶译为 “竟然”Yu can’t imagine that a well-behaved gentleman shuld be s rude t a lady.
4. shall 的用法①用于第二、三人称陈述句表示说话人给对方的命令、警告、允诺、决心、强制或威胁。 — Can I pay the bill by check?— Srry, sir. But it is the management rules f ur htel that payment shall be made in cash.
4. shall 的用法②用于第一或第三人称单数一般疑问句,表征求对方意见。1) A man is asking t see yu. Shall he cme in?2) Shall we g ut fr a walk?3) When shall my father be able t leave hspital?
5. must 的用法① 表示“强制”,汉语可译为“必须”。We must make sure that the signs are clear and easy t read.
5. must 的用法② 表示对现在或将来的情况的推测,汉语可译为“一定”。1) It must be a “D”. 2) There must be sme mistakes, said Dr. Baker.
5. must 的用法③ 表示责备、抱怨的感情色彩,意思为“偏偏,偏要”。 1) — Culd I have a wrd with yu, mum? — Oh, dear, if yu must.2) Jhn, lk at the time. Must yu play the pian at such a late time?
6. wuld 的用法① 表示过去反复发生的动作或某种倾向即“过去常常”。1) In thse days, the ld wman wuld sit at the gate fr hurs, waiting fr her sn t return frm the frnt.2) When I was a child, father and I wuld get up early and g fishing.
6. wuld 的用法② 表示过去将来时。Jhn prmised his dctr he wuld nt smke, and he has never smked ever since.③ 表示“主观意愿”。1) I wuld g there with yu.2) Anyway, I wuldn’t let any truble cme t yu.
