（1）fr＋时间段－Hw lng have yu been in this city？你在这座城市待多久了？－Fr ten years.十年。（2）since＋过去的时间点Mr. Smith has lived here since 1998.史密斯先生自从1998年就住在 这里。
　　fr，since1. 表示延续的一段时间。2. 常与含延续性动词的完成时连用。

　　其他常用的方位介词的用法1. by/beside意为“在……旁边，靠近”。如：The telephne is by the windw.电话在窗户旁边。He sat beside her all night.整个晚上他都坐在她的身边。2. near意为“在……附近”。如：D yu live near here？你住在这附近吗？3. arund意为“在……周围，环绕”。如：The huse is built arund a central curtyard.这房子是围绕着中央 的庭院而建的。
4. against意为“紧靠，依，碰撞”。如：Put the pian against the wall.把钢琴靠墙放。The rain beat against the windws.雨点击打着窗户。5. alng意为“沿着，顺着；靠着……边”。如：They walked slwly alng the rad.他们沿公路慢慢走。Huses had been built alng bth sides f the river.沿河两岸已盖起 了房屋。

命题点　4　其他介词的用法
1. withut意为“没有”，表示否定。如：The party was rganized withut her knwing anything abut it.聚 会已操办妥当，她却一无所知。
2. ver意为“遍及；超过”。如：Peple came frm all ver the wrld t view her wrk.人们从世界 各地涌来欣赏她的作品。Yu can’t imagine he is already ver fifty years ld.你很难想象他已 经五十多岁了。3. nt意为“到……上”，表示位置的改变。如：Mve the bks nt the secnd shelf.把书移到第二层架子上。
4. int意为“进入……里；进入；撞上；碰上”，表示运动或变 化，侧重动作。如：He threw the letter int the fire.他把信扔进了炉火。He drve his car int a tree.他开车撞到了树上。
5. 表示好像或当作的介词：like，as。like表示“像……一样”，其实不是。如：Peter the Great，like his cuntry，was strng and prud.彼得大 帝，像他的国家一样，强健和自豪。as表示“作为，以……身份”，其实也是。如：He talked t me as a father.他以父亲的身份跟我谈话。　　注意：as作连词时，可表示“好像……”。如：The wrk is nt s difficult as yu imagine.这工作不像你想象的那 么难。
6. 表示支持或反对的介词：against“反对”，fr“支持”，互为 反义词。如：Are yu fr my idea r against it？你赞同还是反对我的想法？
