    Auggie’s Stry
    Sleep
    I’d been reading fr ver an hur and sleep still didn’t cme. It was almst tw a. m. Everyne else was asleep. I had my flashlight (手电筒) n under the sleeping bag. Maybe the light was why I culdn’t sleep, but I was t afraid t turn it ff. What had happened kept cming back t my mind.
    When we gt back t the camp, n ne nticed we’d been gne. The teachers and all the ther kids were still watching the mvie. They didn’t knw hw smething bad had just happened t me and Jack. It’s s strange hw that can be, hw yu culd have a night that’s the wrst in yur life, but t everybdy else it’s just a usual night.
    Ams, Miles and Henry brught us back t ur seats. Then they returned t their wn seats. In a way, everything was exactly as we had left it. The sky was the same. The mvie was the same. Everyne’s faces were the same. Mine was the same.
    But smething was different. Smething had changed.

    “There are always ging t be bad guys in the wrld, Auggie,” she said, lking at me. “But I really believe there are mre gd peple n this earth than bad peple, and the gd peple watch ut fr each ther and take care f each ther. Just like Jack was there fr yu. And Ams. And thse ther kids.”
    “Oh yeah, Miles and Henry,” I answered. “They were amazing, t. It’s very strange because Miles and Henry haven’t even really been very nice t me at all during the year.”

    One day in autumn Squire Grdn, my master, went n a trip int twn. Jhn, my caretaker, went with him. I pulled the cart. The weather was rainy and windy, but we travelled happily.

    The Lins called a break. Jrdan ran t the bench and jumped up and dwn with excitement.
