“I hpe my technlgy can help the blind t live independently.” On the afternn f May 13, Dr. Chiek Asakawa, an IBM cmputer scientist, shared her life experience and her research with students in the Chinese University f Hng Kng (Shenzhen). Asakawa began lsing her eyesight after an accident and was ttally blind by the age f 14. Three years ag, Dr. Asakawa began t wrk n cgnitive assistant (认知辅助) research. NavCg is ne f the applicatins develped by the team. Leilani Farha, the tp UN fficial n husing, said hmelessness is an issue f life and death imprtance. “The death rate (死亡率) amng hmeless peple is tw t ten times higher than that amng the peple wh are nt hmeless,” she said.

Last Friday, a special thing tk place at the Natinal Theater f Krea. A rbt called EveR 6 led an rchestra (管弦乐队) in a perfrmance f Krean music. Rbts have led rchestras in ther cuntries, but this was the first time ever in Krea.
