Previus studies have demnstrated that cntact with nature benefits mental well- being, especially fr thse wh live in cities. Fr example, the risk f develping the tw mst universal mental disrders in the wrld, depressin and anxiety, is 71% lwer in urban citizens wh live near green spaces. Mst f these studies, hwever, haven’t cnsidered the extent t which these benefits depend n natural diversity.
T address this gap in research, my clleagues and I examined whether envirnments with a wealth f natural features, such as trees, plants, waterways, and wildlife, wuld bring greater mental health benefits. Between April 2018 and September 2023, we gathered data thrugh the Urban Mind app, which measures the users’ experience f urban and rural living. Nearly 2,000 peple submitted 41, 000 assessments f their envirnment and mental well-being thrughut the day.
We fund that green spaces with high natural diversity have mre mental health benefits than thse with lw natural diversity, which suggests the benefits f nature fr mental well-being can be maximized by prtecting and prmting bidiversity in ur natural envirnments. This means mving away frm heavily managed pckets f greenery, like landscaped gardens and parks f mwn grass, twards spaces like wild grassland and waterways that prvide a mre attractive habitat fr a range f plants and animals.

Als, peple living in r near a natural space tend t spend mre time exercising r scializing utdrs, bth f which prmte the release f md-bsting hrmnes. The science, thus, is clear: Bidiversity is critical nt nly fr the health f ur planet, but als fr human mental health.
12.What des the authr intend t shw by mentining previus studies?
A.The reasn fr their wn study.B.The findings f their wn study.
C.The health benefits f nature.D.The prblems with urban citizens.
13.Why shuld we mve away frm landscaped gardens and parks f mwn grass?
A.They are energy-cnsuming.B.They are f lw bidiversity.
C.They are ding damage t wildlife health.D.They are pssibly hme t natural threats.
14.Hw can bidiverse nature benefit ur mental health accrding t the text?
A.By maintaining ur energy.B.By beautifying ur envirnment.
C.By encuraging utdr activities.D.By reducing the necessity t scialize.
15.Which f the fllwing might be the authr’s pinin abut bidiversity?
A.It is beneficial t memry and tiredness.
B.It is faced with human threats in many cities.
C.It is mainly respnsible fr ur gd mental health.
D.It is vital t the health f the earth and human beings.
