The Eden Prject has an amazing cllectin f plants. These plants are frm different parts f the wrld. There is a cllectin f fd plants, and the Eden Prject als has a cllectin f ther useful plants, like bamb. If yu visit, yu can als see their cllectin f extic plants.
The plant in the picture n the left is frm the rainfrests f Indnesia. The plant can grw up t 3 metres tall and abut 1 metre acrss. When it flwers, it prduces a strng smell t attract insects. It’s a very special plant!
The plant in the picture n the right is frm Brne and Sumatra. It has special cups. When insects fall in the cups, the plant eats the insect. It is a meat-eating plant.

Mney in different frms
Over the years, peple have used different frms f mney as a way t trade r save.
Generally, peple think the first frm f mney was seashells. Shells were used abut 3,000 years ag in sme East Asian cuntries like China and sme cuntries in Africa. Shells were cnsidered a gd chice because they were easy t carry, similar in size and lasted a lng time.
Then, peple develped skills fr making metal things, and metal cins appeared. Metal cins were made f brnze, irn, gld r silver. The earliest metal cins were gld cins frm Lydia, which were used arund 600 BCE. Cins had different shapes. Fr example, in ancient China, peple had dabi (knife cins), fangkngqian (rund cins with a square hle in the centre), etc.
The first knwn paper mney appeared in China during the Sng dynasty, which is called jiazi. The paper was a prmise t pay a certain amunt f mney. Six centuries later (in the 1600s), banks in Eurpe started t give ut paper mney. Paper mney became cmmn in almst all currencies, and it is still widely used.
These days, peple are used t paying fr things electrnically.Nw many cuntries are develping digital currencies. Mney isused in a new frm.

Step 1 Discuss what yu r yur family cllect. Frm different grups accrding t the type f yur cllectins (e.g. wrapper grup, ty grup). If yu d nt cllect anything, yu can jin any grup yu like.
Step 2 Put tgether items fr a cllectin. Each grup member prvides a vide r sme pictures f the mst cherished item in their cllectin and intrduces it t the grup.
