Insect numbers have drpped by half in sme parts f the wrld due t climate change and intensive agriculture, a study has fund. Preserving habitats(栖息地) fr nature culd help ensure vital insects thrive(兴旺).
Lead researcher, Dr. Charlie Outhwaite, said lsing insect ppulatins culd be harmful nt nly t the natural envirnment, but als t human health and fd security, particularly with lss f pllinatrs (传粉者). In areas with high-intensity agriculture and significant warming, insect numbers have drpped by 49% and the number f different species by 27%, cmpared with relatively untuched places that have s far avided the severest effects f climate change, accrding t the research, published in Nature.
But the researchers said that setting aside areas f land fr nature culd create a place fr insects, which need shade t survive in ht weather.
