New research by a team f ecnmists shws that electric vehicle(EV) tax credits under the Inflatin Reductin Act (IRA)(《通胀削减法案》) have decreased climate pllutin and bsted American car manufacturers, but at a price. Mst car buyers benefiting frm the subsidy(补贴) wuld have purchased an electric vehicle anyway, raising questins abut the taxpayer dllars spent pursuing the cleaner energy plicy.
The study, published n Octber 7 as a wrking paper by the Natinal Bureau f Ecnmic Research, ffers the mst cmprehensive lk yet at the ecnmic effects f the EV subsidies allwed fr in the Inflatin Reductin Act f 2022. Overall, the news is gd: The EVs purchased after the law tk effect have increased American autmakers’ prfits, put mney int the pckets f cnsumers wh receive the maximum $7,500 tax credit, and benefited the envirnment.
In ecnmic terms, the researchers cnclude that the new EV tax subsidies have reaped(收获) $1.87 in U. S. manufacturing firms, they als impse high csts n U. S. taxpayers.”
The researchers suggest that the IRA culd have been far mre beneficial if it prvided larger tax credits t cleaner EVs. The reasn is that the envirnmental csts f driving an electric vehicle vary substantially acrss EVs. Fr example, switching frm a Japanese T. P. hybrid car t an American T. C. electric car supprts the adptin f cleaner-energy vehicles, but the latter generates mre pllutin, since the renwned Japanese T. P. hybrid car ranks first in the Greenest List released by the American Cuncil fr an Energy-Efficient Ecnmy (ACEEE) earlier this year.
12.Which is nt a benefit f the EV subsidies?

    C.Bsting car manufacturers' earnings.
    D.Increasing gvernment tax incme.
    13.Hw is paragraph 3 develped?

    B.By making a cmparisn.
    C.By analyzing cause and effect.
    D.By quting an expert's pinin.
14.What des the underlined sentence in paragraph 6 imply?

B.The plicy extends beynd the hme market.
C.The plicy has nly benefited a small grup f peple.
D.The plicy has bth psitive and negative utcmes.

    11.答案: A
故选A 项。
A 项由第一段Mst car buyers benefiting frm the subsidy(补贴) wuld have purchased an electric vehicle anyway。 The researchers suggest that the IRA culd have been far mre beneficial if it prvided larger tax credits t cleaner EVs. The study, published Octber 7 as a wrking paper by the Natinal Bureau f Ecnmic Research, ffers the mst cmprehensive lk yet at the ecnmic effects f the electric vehicle subsidies allwed fr in the Inflatin Reductin Act f 2022。
Wet yur finger r a pinter stick and attach a piece f fish fd t it, hlding it just ver the surface f the water... higher abve the water t make it mre challenging."(弄湿你的手指或者小棍,附上一块鱼食,把它举在水面上方……

    24.答案: A
    28.答案: A
    解析: 患者一坐起来(sit up),传感器就会快速报警,"wake up"是"醒来";"stay up"是"熬夜";"pick up"是"捡起、接人",这里强调从躺着到坐起的动作,sit up 最合适。
    29.答案: A

故填which。
故填is fueled/ is fuelled。
故填a。
