I’d been fascinated by all kinds f bears, but it was the Spectacled Bear that really attracted me. Its name cmes frm the yellwish fur arund the bear’s eyes like glasses. It’s the nly survivr f a type f bear that nce ranged acrss America during the last Ice Age. ⑰We thught that it was nly fund in certain places in Venezuela and Chile, but sme reprts suggest there might be a very small number f the bears als living in nrthern parts f Argentina and eastern Panama. ⑳Their habitats can range frm dry castal deserts t high muntain areas abve 4,000 meters. It’s been estimated that there are nly abut 2,400 Spectacled Bears still arund. ⑱The bears are endangered nt s much because they are hunted by ther animals, but what I find really sad is the fact that humans destry their habitats.
⑲The bears are primarily vegetarian. On rare ccasins thugh they eat hney, which I thught was just smething in children’s bks. It’s quite surprising that althugh they rarely eat meat they have extremely strng jaws and wide, flat teeth.
We’re really trying t make peple mre aware f the bears. I hpe everyne will supprt ur effrts t help these fascinating creatures!

At the sight f my strange behavir, the laughter frm these kids faded away all f a sudden. “Is Batman escaping?” asked a child, his vice filled with genuine cncern. I fund myself rted t the grund, unable t inch frward. Sme awful memries flashed back in frnt f my eyes, making me feel my bld freeze. My heart was beating painfully fast, and my mind went ttally blank. Anther child brke the ice by yelling frm the tp f his lungs, “Batman never escapes!” It was his inspiring wrds that brught me back t reality, and I eventually gathered up my curage t d what Batman wuld d.
I ran int the party, and they were all clapping their hands fr me. Unaffected by my previus mve, the birthday by jumped fr jy and threw himself int my arms. I failed t cntain my feelings, excitement written all ver my face. It struck me that I was the nly ne bthered by me and my mustache. Feeling n tp f the wrld, I cracked a smile at these little angels and pened my muth, “Batman’s here! Wh wants t fight against bad guys with me?” “Me!” they replied in chrus, and a trace f jy can be nticed in their vices, fr which my lng-lst cnfidence fund its way back. Cape blwing in the wind, tears welling up in my eyes, I gt rid f insecurity and self-dubt lingering in my heart and reslved t stay psitive in the face f adversity.
