The Kmd dragn is the largest lizard in the wrld. It can grw t three metres in length and can weigh abut 135 kilgrams. Despite its size and weight, it can run fr shrt distances at up t 20 kilmetres per hur.
The duck-billed platypus is a small egg-laying mammal (up t 60 cm in length) fund nly in Eastern Australia including Tasmania. As its name suggests, it has a muth that lks like a duck’s bill, while its thick fur and flat tail are similar t thse f a beaver.
As ne f the ldest sea animals in the wrld, the nautilus has hardly changed in abut 500 millin years, and that is why it is ften given the name “living fssil”.

The British bilgist, naturalist and the funder f Thery f Evlutin. In his early years, he sailed arund the wrld n the Beagle fr five years, and bserved and cllected a lt f animals, plants and gelgical structures. He published the Origin f Species and put frward the thery f bilgical evlutin.
Darwin's Thery f Evlutin is ne f the basic fundatins f mdern science. It shws that plants and animals can change ver time. The changes are usually small and difficult t detect, but they add up ver many generatins and can result in new species.
