（1）一般在词尾加–er。如：tall-taller（2）重读闭音节词结尾只有一个辅音字母的，双写这个辅音字母， 再加–er。如：ht -htter（3）以辅音字母加y结尾的，变y为i,加–er。如：funny -funnier, happy - happier, angry - angrier;（4）以不发音的e结尾，直接加r。如：nice- nicer late - later; (5)多音节形容词的比较级，在形容词前加mre，如mre beautiful.
形容词比较级的变化的方法：
顺口溜：比较级要变化，词尾后面加er，重读闭音节，末尾字母要双写；词尾后有哑音e,直接加r就可以；多音节要变化，词前加mre就拿下。
