Epel and her clleagues analyzed fd recrds f 342 wmen ver three days. The team then scred each wman’s diet based n hw clsely it fllwed varius established diets: While nutrient-rich diets were tied t slwed aging, added sugars seemed t cntrl the effect. In the study, wmen wh cnsumed higher amunts f added sugars shwed signs f faster cellular aging cmpared t thers, even if they ate ther healthy diet. “Added sugars” refer t sugars that are added t fd during prductin such as thse in sugared drinks and baked gds, as ppsed t the naturally ccurring sugars fund in milk, fruits and vegetables.
