    Greeting
    1)Greet the class.
    Say: Gd mrning/afternn, class. Hw are yu tday?
    Ask fur r five students t respnd.
    2)Intrduce the new unit. Draw a mind map n the blackbard and discuss the theme
    f Unit 3.
    Teacher: Tday we will start a new unit. Wh can tell me the title f Unit 3?
    Student: I can. It's "Schl Life".
    Teacher: Very gd. In this unit, we will learn t talk abut all the things we d and
    learn at schl. What are sme things we d r learn at schl?
    Students may respnd with sme f the fllwing answers:
    We have lessns/classes.
    We learn English, math, science, Chinese, etc. We play games.
    We d sprts. We have tests. We read bks. We sing sngs.
    Review
    Talk abut different schl subjects and discuss the students' favurite subjects.
    Teacher: What's yur favurite subject? Students: My favurite subject is..
    Teacher: What d yu think f yur schl subjects? Students: They are

    students just t listen.
    2)Play the auditape a secnd time and ask the students t cmplete the exercise.
    3)Check the answers as a class and pint ut the different subjects.

    1) Instruct the students t read Lessn 13 silently. and answer the questins
    independently.
    2) Students shuld check and crrect their answers in grups.
    3) Discuss the answers as a class.

    PAIR WORK: Rle-play the lessn
    1) Instruct the students t rle-play the lessn in pairs. 2)If time allws, select sme
    pairs t present their rle-play in frnt f the class.

    1) Instruct the students t wrk in pairs t cmplete the timetable in the student bk.
    2)Students shuld use their cmpleted timetable t make up a dialgue fllwing the
    example in the student bk.

    as a class.

    Think abut what yur schl life is like. Then exchange yur idea with yur partner
    next class. EXTENSION
    SMALL GROUP/PAIR WORK: Think Ahead
    Play Think Ahead t review and t practice describing different schl subjects.
    1) In small grups r pairs, students write eight different schl subjects n separate

    slips f paper. 2)Instruct the students t place all the slips f paper face dwn in a pile.
    3)Player I picks up a slip f paper and puts it n his r her frehead with the wrd
    (schl subject)facing tward the ther players. Player I tries t guess the schl
    subject by asking thers questins.
    Fr example:
    D we have this schl subject at ur schl? D we d sprts in this class?
    D we learn hw t draw pictures in this class?

    LANGUAGE NOTES
    1. Hw is yur schl life ging?你们的学校生活 怎么样?
    Hw is. ging?意为“···怎么样?···如
    何?··还好吗?”。也可以直接说 Hw is..?例如:
    Hw is everything ging recently? Hw is everything recently?最近一切都还好吗?
    2. I am a little busy this term.这个学期我有点儿忙。 a little 意为“一点儿”,后跟形
    容词或副词。例如:He feels a little thirsty.他感觉有点儿渴
    Yu drive a little fast. Please slw dwn.你开车有点 儿快。请开慢些。
    3. We always have a big sprts meet twice a year. 我们每年举行两次大型的运动会。
    ① have a sprts meet 意为“举行运动会”,have 表示“举行”。例如:
    We will have a class meeting this afternn.今天下午我们将举行班会。
    Lingling had a birthday party last Sunday.上周日玲 玲举办了一个生日聚会。
    ②twice a/an..意为“··两次”,表示时间的频度。nce 表示“一次”,三次和三次以
    上用 times 表示次数。例如:
    Li Hui played cmputer games nce a week.李辉每 周玩儿一次电脑游戏。
    My parents take me t visit my grandparents fur times a mnth.每月父母带我去看
    望我的祖父母四次。
    4. Last term I wn first place!上个学期我获得了第 一名!
    win first place 意为“获得(赢得)第一名”,与“win+ 比赛项目或竞赛项目”同义。
    例如:

    All f the students are trying their best t win first place.所有的学生都在为获得第
    一名而努力。
    Which cuntry wn the sccer game?哪个国家赢得 了足球比赛的胜利?
    5. Yu're gd at the lng jump.你擅长跳远。
    be gd at 意为“擅长·..,·.·.(方面)做得好”。例如:
    Tiantian is very gd at art. 甜甜擅长美术。
    6. I made a bird huse all by myself.我自己做了一 个鸟舍。
    all by neself 意为“某人自己,单独,独自”。 myself 表示“我自己”。例如:
    I learned French all by myself. 我自学的法语。 The little girl stayed at hme all by
    herself.这个小女 孩儿自己一人呆在家。
