    Greet the class.
    Say: Gd mrning/afternn, everyne.
    Review

    STEP 1: PRESENT
    1) Instruct the students t read the title f Lessn 15 (Making a Difference).
    Write making a difference n the blackbard. Explain the meaning f the phrase. (If
    yu like, yu may ask the students t refer t the Dig In at the bttm f the lessn.)
    Teacher: "Making a difference"means making a gd change. Yu can help smene
    make a difference in his r her life r smene can help yu make a difference in yur
    wn life. D yu think schl makes a difference in yur life? Des schl help yu
    r make yu better?
    Help the students answer these questins.

    Students: Yes, we learn many imprtant things at schl.
    Teacher: That's right. Schl teaches yu imprtant skills that can help yu d well in
    the future.What des"in the future"mean?
    Write in the fiuture n the blackbard. Explain the meaning f the phrase.
    2)Teacher: Schl can help yu get a gd jb later in yur life. S teachers want
    their students t stay in schl. They dn't want their students t drp ut f schl.
    Write drp ut f n the blackbard. Explain the meaning f the phrase.

    1)Play the auditape fr Lessn 15 (Making a Difference). Play it nce and ask the
    students just t listen.
    2)Play the auditape a secnd time and ask the students t cmplete the exercise.
    3) Check the answers as a class and crrect any false statements.

    1) Instruct the students t read Lessn 15 silently, and fill in the blanks independently.

    2)Remind the students t d their best t imitate the prnunciatin they hear.
    STEP 5: PRACTICE AND PLAY

    Play Never Never t review adverbs f frequency. But first, yu may want t write
    sme key terms n the blackbard and explain.

    made a difference in their lives r has made a difference in ther
    peple's lives. Students can fllw the example in the student bk.
    3) Select sme pairs t share their stries with the class.

    Students d the exercise independently, then check the answers in grups, and finally
    as a class.
    2)Assign hmewrk:
    Hw I (Can) Make a Difference: Think abut hw yu have made r can make a
    difference in the future. EXTENSION
    GROUP WORK: Dialgue rle-play
    1) Instruct the students t make up a dialgue using the key wrds and phrases frm
    this lessn.
    2)Prvide the students with the fllwing scenari t help them get started.
    3)One grup member shuld play the rle f the student (wh wants t drp ut). and
    the ther grup members play the rles f the teacher. friend(s) r parents.
    4) Students shuld practice rle-playing the dialgue. If time allws, ask sme grups
    t present their dialgue t the class.
    Sample Scenari:
    A student wants t drp ut f schl. The student's teacher, friend(s) r
    parents shw care and cncern, and encurage him r her t stay in schl.
    Each f them gives the student at least ne reasn why he r she shuld
    stay in schl.

    LANGUAGE NOTES
    1. Last year, I wanted t give up my studies.去年, 我想要放弃我的学业。
    give up 意为“放弃”,与 stp 同义。例如: We will never give up ur dreams. 我
    们永远不会放 弃梦想。
    I need t tell my father t give up smking.我需要告 诉我爸爸要戒烟。

    make a difference 意为“有所不同,有所影响,有 所作为”。例如:
