    一、一般过去时的概念一般过去时表示在过去某个时间或某一段时间内发生的动作或存在的状态。
    二、动词过去式的构成1. 规则动词的过去式变化规则如下:(1)一般情况,直接加-ed。如want—wanted; play—played。(2)以e结尾的动词,直接加-d。如hpe—hped; live —lived。(3)以重读闭音节结尾的动词,末尾只有一个辅音字母,先双写这个辅音字母,再加-ed。如stp—stpped; shp—shpped。(4)以辅音字母加y结尾的动词,变y为i,再加-ed。如study—studied;wrry—wrried。2. 不规则动词的过去式变化各异。如is—was; are—were; cut—cut; begin—began; bring—brught; feel—felt; build—built。
    三、一般过去时的句式结构1. 肯定形式:(1)主语 + was/were+形容词/名词. (2)主语 + 动词的过去式…The schl trip was great last week. 上周的学校旅行很棒。We went there by bus. 我们坐公交车去的那儿。2. 否定形式:(1)主语 + was/were + nt +形容词/名词. (2)主语 + didn’t + 动词原形…The schl trip wasn’t great last week. 上周的学校旅行不好。We didn’t g there by bus. 我们没有坐公交车去那儿。3. 一般疑问句:(1)Was/Were +主语 + nt +形容词/名词?(2)Did +主语 +动词原形…?Was the schl trip great last week? 上周的学校旅行很棒吗?Did yu g there by bus? 你们坐公交车去的那儿吗?
    1. Lng ag, there was a pr farmer called Fred. 很久以前,有一个贫穷的农民叫弗雷德。(1)lng ag很久以前I learned it lng ag. 我很早以前就学会了。(2)pr〔形容词〕贫穷的 反义词:richThe pr man can’t find anything t eat. 这个贫穷的人找不到任何吃的东西。【拓展】pr还可意为“不擅长的”。My brther is a pr swimmer. 我弟弟不擅长游泳。(3)过去分词短语作后置定语called Fred为过去分词短语,在句中作后置定语,修饰farmer,表示被动。D yu knw the man called Tim?你认识那个叫蒂姆的人吗?

    3. Fred, yu’re a gd and hard-wrking farmer. 弗雷德,你是一个善良、勤劳的农民。hard-wrking〔形容词〕工作努力的;辛勤的She wants t find a hard-wrking girl. 她想找一个勤奋的女孩。【拓展】wrk hard努力工作We all wrk hard in ur schl. 我们在学校都努力学习。
    4. Althugh we’re ld, we wrk in the fields every day. 虽然我们老了,但是我们每天在田地里劳动。althugh〔连词〕尽管;虽然althugh引导让步状语从句,从句多位于主句之前,也可位于主句之后。注意,althugh不与but连用,但可以与yet或still连用。Althugh he’s 95, he is still very healthy. 尽管95岁了,他还是十分健康。Althugh he runs fast, he can’t win at all. 尽管跑得很快,但是他根本赢不了。
    5. ‘Althugh ur hut is ld and small, it’s very cmfrtable. I like this hut very much. I’ve lived here with Dris fr many years,’ replied Fred. “虽然我们的屋子又旧又小,但是它很舒适。我非常喜欢这个小屋。我和多丽丝在这里住了很多年了,”弗雷德回答道。(1)cmfrtable 〔形容词〕舒服的 其反义词是uncmfrtable“不舒服的”。These beds are very cmfrtable. 这些床很舒服。(2)reply ①〔动词〕回答,答复 与answer意思接近。‘Jane culdn’t cme tnight,’ Jhn replied. “简今天晚上来不了了,”约翰回答道。
