二、教学设计
教学目标：学生能会用大数字和表示度量的结构来描述地理信息。并且会用比较级和最高级谈论我国和世界的一些“自然地理之最”。激起学生的民族自豪感。
内容分析：本部分教材内容主要围绕地理知识展开，集中呈现了大数字的读法和表示度量的结构，并在上学期基础上进一步拓展了比较级和最高级的使用。学生对百以内数字的读法比较熟练，大数字的读法不是很了解；地理中的一些地名学生读起来有些拗口，所以这两部分应作为口语训练的重点。比较级和最高级在上学期已经学过，作为复习内容不用重点讲解。
学情分析：学生进入八年级后，由于教材内容难度加大和学生在此阶段的心理特征，课堂上没有七年级时那么活跃，很多学生不爱积极主动的发言。有些英语口语不好的同学甚至难于张口。
设计思路：本节课是听说课，结合小组教学，解决学生张不开嘴不敢说的问题。教师不断抛出任务，学生小组成员之间互助完成口语活动。
