    教材分析
    本单元话题是谈论世界知识,谈论地理与自然。在语法方面主要是让学生能表达较大的数字,能熟练运用形容词和副词的比较级,最高级。本单元集中呈现了大数字的读法和表示度量的结构,并进一步拓展了比较级和最高级的使用。
    1a-1c是单元的导入部分。活动1a的主题图呈现了Q mlangma, the Nile,the Caspian Sea和 the Sahara四幅图,从而引出该部分的重点,自然地理之最的相关数据。
    2a-2d的重点是听和说的教学。借助我国人口,历史,河流的话题内容,将学生带入我们自己的地理与人文语境中。听力活动按梯度设计,要求学生能够通过听获取地理知识中的一些重要数据及与之相关的文化信息。
    课标理念与设计说明
    本单元借助世界地理知识通过语法形容词和副词的比较级和最高级谈论世界之最,复习了前面学过的知识,又补充了新的知识,让学生了解了世界知识和我国的一些自然的基本知识。在学习中能用英语介绍这些基本的知识。
