It’s prbably nt surprising that a new study has linked added sugar cnsumptin t an increased risk f heart disease, but a less expected discvery is that thse wh have an ccasinal sweet treat appear t be at a reduced risk f cardivascular(心血管的) prblems.
Eating a cake, r chclate bar every s ften may be better fr yur heart than a “zer-sugar” diet, accrding t the research team frm Lund University in Sweden. Hwever, this relatinship desn’t hld fr ther types f sugar cnsumptin, like fizzy drinks and sugary tppings.
The researchers lked at recrds f 69,705 peple in Swedish public health databases. The participants, aged between 45 and 83, were quizzed n their diet and lifestyle in 1997 and 2009, then tracked up t 2019. “The mst striking finding is the varying relatinship between different surces f added sugar and cardivascular disease risk,” says epidemilgist Suzanne Janzi. “This surprising cntrast highlights the imprtance f cnsidering nt just the amunt f sugar cnsumed, but its surce and cntext.”

Bear in mind that these findings suggest relatinships, rather than prving cause and effect. They als dn’t factr in ther health cnsequences — like damage t teeth. The researchers suggest future studies culd lk in mre detail at assciatins between sugar, heart disease, and besity, fr example. “While ur bservatinal study cannt establish causatin, it suggests that extremely lw sugar intake may nt be necessary r beneficial fr cardivascular health,” says Janzi.
    28. What des the underlined phrase “hld fr” in paragraph 2 refer t?
    A. Differ frm.B. Lead t.C. Apply t.D. Originate frm.
    29. Which type f added sugar cntributes least t cardivascular diseases?
    A. Sugary tppings.B. Sweet treats.C. Slid sugars.D. Sweetened beverages.
    30. What may Janzi agree with accrding t the last tw paragraphs?
    A. The cntext f sugar cnsumptin cunts.
    B. Tth damage mainly arises frm sugar intake.
    C. Extremely lw sugar intake is always necessary.
    D. Liquid sugars usually creates a feeling f fullness.
    31. What is the best title f the text?

Mapping explrers f Wikipedia(维基百科) rabbit hles has revealed three different styles f human curisity: the “busybdy”, the “hunter”, and the “dancer”.
Wikipedia, as the wrld’s largest nline encyclpedia, is nw helping scial scientists, in their study, deepen the definitin f curisity by tracing hw searchers mve amng tpics and lse themselves in these Wiki rabbit hles.
In Wikipedia, a busybdy traces a winding rute thrugh many ften distantly related tpics. A hunter, in cntrast, searches with sustained fcus, mving amng a relatively small number f clsely related articles. A dancer links tgether highly distinct tpics t try t cmbine int new ideas. “Curisity actually wrks by cnnecting pieces f infrmatin… t stuff that we already knw,” says University f Pennsylvania netwrk scientist Dani Bassett.
The team tracked mre than 482,000 peple using Wikipedia’s mbile app in 50 cuntries r territries and 14 languages, and charted these users’ paths using “knwledge netwrks” f cnnected infrmatin, which present hw clsely ne search tpic is related t anther. Beynd just mapping the cnnectins, they linked curisity styles t indicatrs f well-being, inequality, and ther measures.
In cuntries with higher educatin levels and greater gender equality, peple brwsed(浏览)mre like busybdies. In cuntries with lwer scres n these variables, peple brwsed like hunters. Bassett assumes that in cuntries with less equality, there may be a restrictin f knwledge prductin that pushes peple mre tward this intense fcus. Dancer patterns, mre recently cnfirmed, were excluded.
Princetn University psychlgist Erik Nk praised the study fr its “astnishingly brad” range. The team, he says, brught tgether specialized knwledge frm a range f fields t reveal a hst f insights int human behavir.
The seeds f this wrk were actually planted in 2016 when Bassett and Perry Zurn, a prfessr f philsphy, nticed that creativity was well-studied, but curisity, its necessary cnditin, was nt. After extensively studying 2,000 years f Western literature, Zurn identified varius curisity styles, including the three mentined. Wikipedia then served as a real-wrld test bed t cnfirm this classificatin.
    32. What is the purpse f the study by scial scientists?
    A. T better understand curisity.
    B. T find different curisity styles.
    C. T prmte Wikipedia’s mbile app.
    D. T analyse the educatin differences.
    33. Hw may a “hunter” search n Wikipedia?
    A. Frm “cat” t “cffee” t “cat cafe”.
    B. Frm “cat” t “cat diet” t “cat sleep”.
    C. Frm “cat” t “chemicals” t “universe”.
    D. Frm “cat” t “Egyptian cat” t “ancient Egypt”.
    34. What kind f peple act mre like busybdies?.
    A. Peple with better educatin.
    B. Peple with greater happiness.
    C. Peple frm less equal sciety.
    D. Peple frm less develped natins.
    35. What is the last paragraph mainly abut?
    A. A new research methd.
    B. The rigin f the research.
    C. Previus research findings.

Math was the first perid, and Nathan was n tp f the wrld when Mr. Stephen said we were learning algebra(代数) tday. Mr. Stephen wrte lts f equatins with letters n the whitebard. Finally, the cmpetitin came! “It’s the big day!”Ms. Hawking annunced brightly. She made us frm a circle and explained the rules — “miss ne wrd, and yu’re ut”. Then she lked dwn t read wrds frm her list. My class was full f bad spellers. After three times arund the circle, there were nly Nathan and me.
Nathan’s next wrd was “magician.” “M-I-G-I-C-I-A-N, magician.” He gt it, but he lked uncertain the whle time he was spelling it. I smiled with the knwledge f my upcming victry. I believed that he was definitely unfamiliar with literature wrds. “Yur wrd is ‘algebra’.” Ms. Hawking said t me.
