英语作文常用九类过渡词句

一、    文章及段落起始常用的过渡词语==启

******首先=第一：Firstly=First and foremost=initially=at first=in the first place=first of all=above all=primarily=generally speaking=to begin with

1.to begin with首先

【例】To begin with, smoking should be banned in public areas.

2.generally speaking 总体上讲

【例】Generally speaking, the more you practice, the more skillfully you can write in English.

3.first of all 第一，首先

【例】First of all, many people in remote areas still live in poverty.

4.in the first place 首先

【例】In the first place, she can read at the rate of 100 words a minute.

5.first and foremost 首先

【例】First and foremost, some people may hold the view that the advancement of technology brings us benefits.

6.initially 首先

二、文章及段落中间常用的过渡词语==承

******其次=第二：Secondly=secondarily=next=then=in the second place=in the next place

1.secondarily 其次

【例】Secondarily, smoking does more harm to the people around you.

2.in the second place 其次

三、文章及段落中间常用的过渡词语==承

四、文章及段落末尾常用的过渡词语==合

******因此=最后：Therefore= thus= in conclusion= to sum up= in brief=in a nutshell=in a word=in the end=eventually=at last=ultimately=as a result=on the whole

1. Thus 因此

2.eventually 最后

4.to sum up 总之

五、常用表示先后次序的过渡词语

first 第一 second 第二 next 其次，然后 eventually 最后，最终 since then 自此以后

afterward 以后，随后 meanwhile 同时 therefore 因而 immediately 立刻 finally 最后

【例】Finally, the country must not again go through the war.

六、常用表示因果关系的过渡词语

Accordingly=because=because of=for the reason that= due to=thanks to=owing to=as a result of=on account of=consequently

【例】Time definitely will not stop running on account of our failure, therefore keeping advancing and striving seems much more urgent for us

【例】It rained, for this reason, the game was cancelled.

七、常用表示比较和对比的过渡词语

in contrast with和……成对照 similarly同样 whereas然而 on the contrary相反

different from与……不同 likewise同样 equally important同样重要 on the other

hand另一方面 for one thing, for another一方面，另一方面; in comparison with 比较

八、常用表示举例的过渡词语

a case in point恰当的例子 for example举例 namely( that is )即，这就是说

for instance举例 likewise 例如 such as 比如 an example of…is… exemplify

【例】A case in point is the water control project along the Yangtze River.

九、有关描写图表的过渡词语

十一、逻辑连接词语
