    ② I like histry very much because it’s very interesting.

    Step 1: Warm-up


    Get students ready fr learning.


    Help the students t revise the wrds abut the days f a week and subjects. Organize the cmpetitin t aruse the students’ interests.


    T: Have a grup cmpetitin. Sit in grups. Answer the teacher’s questins as quickly as yu can. Revise the wrds abut the days f a week and subjects. The grup which can answer the mst questins will be the winner in this cmpetitin.


    e.g.


    T: It’s 10:30 n Wednesday mrning. What class are we having?


    S: Gegraphy.


    T: We have tw English classes n this day. One f them begins at 9:00 and it’s ver at 9:40. What day is it?


    S: It’s Mnday.


    Step 2: Presentatin


    Individual wrk


    Present new wrds and new patterns with the help f the flashcards and cntext.


    T: Lk at the wrd flashcards (easy, interesting, difficult). Answer the teacher’s questins and learn the new wrds and new sentence patterns.


    T: What d yu think f English? Easy? Interesting? Or difficult?


    S: Interesting.


    T: What d yu think f histry? Easy? Interesting? Or difficult?


    S: Difficult.


    T: D yu like Chinese?


    S: Yes, I d.


    T: Why?


    S: Because it’s interesting.


    T: Fill in the blanks individually. Then check the answers with yur partner.


    A: What d yu think f gegraphy?


    B: I dn’t like it because it’s __________ and my gegraphy is nt gd.


    A: What d yu think f histry?


    B: I think it’s __________ and I like the stries in histry. What abut yu?

    Help the students learn t ask smene, likes r dislikes f a subject. Tell them t listen t key wrds while listening.


    T: D 1a. Lk at the picture in 1a. Predict the listening material in 1a. Then listen t the tape and cmplete the tw clumns in the table in 1b.


    T: Then listen again and cmplete the third clumn in 1b. Check the answers with yur partner. Then the whle class check the answers tgether.


    Step 3: Cnslidatin


    Pair wrk


    Read 1a after the tape. Then practice the cnversatin in 1a in pairs. Sme pairs read ut the cnversatin t the whle class.


    Individual wrk


    Help the students t rganize the sentences with the help f the table. Cnslidate the sentence patterns abut likes and dislikes.


    T: D 1b. Lk at the table in 1b. Try t say the sentences with the help f the table.


    e.g.


    Maria likes English very much because she thinks it’s easy and interesting.


    Zhu Yan desn’t like English because she thinks it’s a little difficult. But she likes histry very much because she thinks it’s very interesting.


    Step 4: Practice


    Pair wrk


    Make the students practice expressins abut likes and dislikes rally.


    T: D 1a. After practicing the cnversatin in 1a, make up a new cnversatin abut yur favrite subject in pairs. Then practice yur new cnversatin with yur partner. After that, sme pairs act ut yur cnversatins t the whle class.


    e.g.


    A: What d yu think f Chinese?


    B: I dn’t like it at all.


    A: Why?


    B: Because it’s a little difficult fr me. What abut yu?


    A: I like gegraphy best.


    B: Why?


    A: Because it is interesting.

    Create situatins t present the new phrase. Check the answers. Make the students practice the wrds f subjects rally.


    T: D 2a. Answer the teacher’s questins t learn the new phrase.


    T: What class are we having?


    Ss: We are having an English class.


    T: What are we learning abut?


    Ss: We are learning abut English wrds and sentences.


    T: Then match the wrds f subjects with the descriptins individually. Check the answers with yur partner.


    T: Ask and answer questins with yur partner with the phrases in the bx in 2a.

    B: They are having a histry class.

    Make the students practice the expressins abut likes and dislikes.

    Grup wrk


    Make the students use the expressins abut likes and dislikes in ral wrk and written wrk after learning.


    T: D 3. Sit in grups. Survey yur grup members abut the subjects they like r dislike and the reasns. Then reprt the result t the class.


    e.g.


    In ur grup, Tm likes math because he thinks it’s interesting. But he desn’t like histry because he thinks it’s bring. Mary likes ...


    Step 6: Summary and Hmewrk


    Encurage Ss t summarize the key pints.

    Review the wrds and practice the cnversatins in 1a with yur partner.
