    【语篇解读】手势语是一种通俗易懂的表达方式。每种文化都有自己的肢体语言,由于文化的不同,相同的手势语在不同的国家有着不同的含义。Hand gesturesHand gestures are a quick and quiet way fr peple f all cultures t express, bth negatively① and psitively, a particular feeling r wrd. Every culture has its wn gestures, and they d nt always mean the same things universally②.
    Making the “OK” gesture with the thumb and index finger is a psitive hand gesture in the United States. It is made by tuching the tip f the thumb t the tip f the index finger. The ther three fingers are extended③ abve the thumb and index finger. Hwever, this hand gesture is cnsidered insulting④ in France and Latin America. The “victry” hand gesture is made by bending the third and furth fingers t tuch the tip f the thumb and extending the index and middle finger upward,separating⑤ them by abut an inch t frm the letter V.Facing the palm utward t the persn finishes the victry gesture. Allied leaders and hippies(嬉皮士) used this gesture at different times. The Allied leaders used it t shw the symbl⑥ f victry during Wrld War II. Hippies used it during the Vietnam War t express their anti-war feelings. 
    The thumb-up hand gesture is made by extending yur thumb int the air while curling the ther fur fingers inward. The meaning behind this gesture, at least in Western cultures, is “well dne” r “things are great”.Hwever, in such places as Latin America,Sardinia, Greece, and suthern Italy, the gesture has the ppsite⑦ meaning.
