    Old Tm the Killer Whale (1)
    Clancy wrked at a whaling statin. One day, he was srting ut his accmmdatin when he heard a lud nise cming frm the bay. The whalers ran dwn t the shre in time t see an enrmus animal ppsite them thrwing itself ut f the water and then crashing dwn again. That was Old Tm, the killer whale.
    Gerge called ut t Clancy and anther whaler yelled ut “Rush-… rush-”. This was the call that annunced there was abut t be a whale hunt. Even thugh Clancy didn’t have the right clthes n, he raced after Gerge.Withut pausing, they jumped int the bat with the ther whalers and headed ut int the bay.
    Clancy lked dwn int the water and saw Old Tm swimming by the bat, shwing them the way. A few minutes later, there was n Tm, s Gerge started beating the water with his ar and there was Tm, circling back t the bat, leading them t the hunt again.
    As they drew clser, Clancy saw a whale being attacked by a pack f abut six ther killers. Sme f killer whales threw themselves n tp f the whale’s blw-hle t stp it breathing. The thers were stpping the whale diving r fleeing ut t sea.
    Just at that mment, the mst extrardinary thing happened. The killers started racing between the bat and the whale just like a pack f excited dgs.Then the harpn was ready and the man in the bw f the bat aimed it at the whale. He let it g and the harpn hit the spt.
    Being badly wunded, the whale sn died. Within a mment r tw, its bdy was dragged swiftly by the killers dwn int the depth f the sea. The men started turning the bat arund t g hme.
    Summary 1:Use prper verbs t describe the experience and give it a sense f excitement and actin.
    Practice: Chse different verbs t finish the sentence.

    One day when the whalers were ut in the bay during a hunt and James was washed ff the bat.The sea was rugh that day and it was difficult t handle the bat. The waves were carrying James further and further away frm the whalers.
    James was terrified f being abandned by the ther whalers. It tk ver half an hur t get the bat back t James, and when the ther whalers apprached him, James was firmly held up in the water by Old Tm. The ther whalers culdn’t believe their eyes that James was saved by Old Tm.

    Last Saturday, yur parents and yu visited Beijing Btanical Garden, which left yu with a strng impressin. Yu are ging t write a passge t describe the experience.The passage is suppsed t include:what yu saw;what yu did;hw yu felt.
    Last Saturday, my parents and I went t visit Beijing Btanical Garden tgether. It was a mst fantastic thing t wander freely in the sea f thusands f stunning flwers.The mment we entered the gate, ur eyes were attracted by all the vivid clurs f varius flwers at nce—reds, yellws, purples, whites, blues, pinks, ranges and s n. The flwers were fantastic. Amng them, I especially lved lilies, which were shaped like hrns.
    They were sweet-smelling in different sizes. When we saw them, my parents culdn’t help pressing the shutter and taking a lt f phts with them.Withut pausing, we chse t see the rses, the symbl f pure lve fr thers. Sn we were fascinated by their gd-lking shapes and rich clurs. A new type f rse named “blue enchantress (蓝色妖姬)” was s charming that I just wanted t kiss the gem-blue flwers.
    Besides, there were ther flwers that caught everyne’s eye. The butterfly rchid(蝴蝶兰) was anther example. They gt the name “butterfly rchid” because f the flwer shapes badly like butterflies. Mst f them were purple and white in full blssm. Waving in the breeze, they lked like sme clrful butterflies dancing tgether t the music. It tk us a whle day t visit the garden. Seeing such extrardinary beauty, I felt every cell in my bdy wke up. It was like discvering a whle new dimensin f life. What a day f pure magic!
