    Read the passage and get the main idea.
    The passage mainly talks abut five simple frms f English pems. They are nursery rhymes, list pems, cinquains, Haikus and Tang pems. And there are sme English pems(A-H) t enjy and read.
    Read the passage and find ut the features f each frm and what the pems(A-H) are abut.
    Nursery rhymes: They rhyme; the language is cncrete but imaginative; have a lt f repetitin and easy t learn and recite.
    List pems: They have a flexible line length and repeated phrases which give bth a pattern and rhythm t the pem. Sme rhyme while thers d nt.
    Cinquain pems: They are easy t write and made up f five lines; Students can cnvey a strng picture in just a few wrds.
    Haiku pems: A Haiku pem is a Japanese frm f petry, made up f 17 syllables; als easy t write and can give a clear picture.
    Tang pems:
    Frm China. They have been translated int English.
    Summarize what the pems (A-H) are abut.
    (A) It is abut expressing a father’s lve t his baby. (B) It describes images f sme ridiculus things. (C) It is abut lsing a ftball match and the writer lists a lt f excuses fr their failure. (D) It describes a lvely brther. (E) It describes a ht and bring summer.
    (F) It is abut a butterfly resting n a tree. (G) It describes the weather is warmer and the village is full f happy children. (H) It is a translatin f a Tang pem which describes a wman wh waited fr her belved husband t cme back frm a jurney.

    Which pem d yu like best ? Why?
    In my pinin, I like Pem (H) best, because I can understand the meaning f the pem. I als like the sunds f the language. I culd see a very clear picture in my mind particularly. It is a sad stry but written vividly and emtinally. I feel prud f ur Chinese and admire the translatr f English.
