Text 1

M:  Ask John about your proposal. He’ll help.

W:  John? Why do I care if John likes the proposal?

M:  He carries a lot of weight around here. If he buys the idea,  I think the boss will go for it.

W:  Oh,  Devon. I’ve been putting on a few pounds and you’re quite a lean fit guy.

M: Well,  thank you.

W:  What do you recommend? What can I do to lose weight?

M: Well. I exercise a lot. I go some jogging every day. But more than that I enjoy playing football and I also go running at least three times a week.

W:  Yeah,  well,  actually,  one of the problems is that I actually exercise a lot.

M:  Do you?

W:  Yeah,  so maybe it’s my diet. You see,  I like junk food. So I have to choose:  either I eat less or I eat a better diet. What do you think is more important?

M: I think if you are exercising then you should just eat what you want and eat less.

W:  Eat less. OK. This is going to be tough,  but I will have a try. Thanks a lot,  Devon.
