命题趋势
纵观历年读后续写,篇篇记叙文好故事,或遇险,或趣事,或助人,但无论是什么内容,故事读起来都引人入胜,续写写起来也抓耳挠腮。
出题人的设题其实大同小异,通过完整故事的叙述,考查学生用英语叙事和描写的能力,尤其是动作、情感和环境的细节描写。每篇读后续写都离不开两条线:情节线、情感线。故事的发展、情节的推动都与这两条线息息相关,而对情节和情感的描写大多是通过对动作、心理、情感和环境等细节描写来体现的。不同的文章对这四方面侧重不同,或是兼而有之。而我们的续写内容也必然要沿着文中已给的情节线和情感线进行合情、合理续写,通过对人体动作、外在表情、内在情感、心理活动和景物等的细节描写,灵活多样的表达,来推动故事达到高潮,使其“有血有肉、生动形象”,否则我们写出的内容极有可能味同嚼蜡。
考点清单
一、评分原则
1.本题总分为25分,按5个档次给分。
2.评分时,先根据所续写短文的内容和语言初步确定其所属档次,然后以该档次的要求来衡量、确定或调整档次,最后给分。
3.词数少于130的,从总分中减去2分。
4.拼写与标点符号是语言准确性的一个重要方面,评分时,应视其对文章的影响程度予以考虑。
5.如书写较差以致影响文章,可将分数降低一个档次。
6.评分时,应主要从以下四个方面考虑:
(1)与所给短文及段落开头语的衔接程度;
(2)内容的丰富性和对所标出关键词语的应用情况;
(3)应用语法结构和词汇的丰富性和准确性;
(4)上下文的连贯性。
各档次的给分范围和要求
二、续写步骤:
(1)精读文章,确定文章线索。
每篇文章都有各自独特的写作思路,通过精读文章(考试说明中的样题是记叙文,所以可以推测,考察的主要类型是记叙文,所以下边的方法才成立),找到该篇文章的写作线索,例如什么人(wh)什么时间(when)在什么地方(where)因为什么(why)做了什么事儿(what),最后有了什么发展(hw)。这样分析有利于考生“顺藤摸瓜”。
(2)仔细审题,明确续写要求。
一般短文后面的“注意”都有对此短文续写的具体要求,如字数限制、续写段落的首句提示,这样考生能做到“心中有数”。
(3)回扣原文,揣摩续写思路。
根据文章后面的要求,再次快速回读短文,抓住文章的思路,结合段首的提示语,最终确定续写段落的思路,同时结合文章划线词语提示,确定续写段落的内容。
(4)拟写草稿,修改错词病句。
在确定了思路和内容之后,最关键的就是结合提示语或者文中划线的关键词语拟写草稿。拟写时,注意句子结构的多样性、语言的丰富性,并通过句与句之间连接词的正确使用,使上下文连贯。这一步是得分的关键。必杀技:使用2-5个动作描写,1-2个环境描写,1-2个对话,1-2个表情或者心情。
方法不难,积累是关键。应注意积累记叙文和故事类篇章中的词汇、句型和语段,尤其是涉及故事细节描写和人物的表情、动作、心理活动等的表达,丰富自己的记叙文类英文语料库。
3.续写方法
(1)精读所给语言材料,理清文章脉络并明确作者的论点,确定文章主旨。
(2)寻求前文与续写段段首句之间的内在联系,站在作者的角度,设计并发展情节,想象要合理,情节要连贯。
(3)后续情节一般为故事的高潮或延续,是原作者声音的延续、态度的延伸,因此,要尽量符合原文思路,并求得与读者的心理共鸣,让读者回味无穷。
(4)续写时心态要端正,所续写内容要积极、健康向上,把事物美好的一面展示出来。
(5)利用自己已有的知识和经验,在继承原作者风格和语言基础之上,准确、地道地表达,充分展示语言的表现力。提高关联词与过渡语的使用率,增强整句表现力。
(6)如果所给短文为议论文,那么议论文中的段落首句多为主题句,观点鲜明。续写时,要围绕段落分论点确定论证方法,如正反对比、例证等。

Gary wrries at the fire statin. He’s bked fur tickets n bth f the tw flights t Nrth Carlina, a 6 pm frm nearby Manchester r a 7:25 pm frm Bstn. Where are yu Patty? With still n answer, Gary hangs up and dials the plice department. He and his firefighter clleagues phne lcal stres and malls.
Nw as Patty and her daughters g shpping, the mall ludspeakers are making an annuncement. But in the crwded mall, Patty desn’t hear it.
At 5:45 Gary realizes it’s t late t make the Manchester flight. And if he desn’t find Patty sn, they wn’t make the Bstn flight either. Patty still hasn’t returned at 6:40. “Cme hme, Patty!” he begs, lking at the driveway. 7:00. It’s t late! Gary panics. Suddenly, he hears the sund f a car! “Patty!” he cries. Sptting her car pulling int the driveway, he calls the fire department. “Get that helicpter here!” he shuts. “She’s hme!”
