What activities do you like to help lower your stress? Order them from 1-8 with being the most favorite thing you do to lower stress.  3. Ss discuss with their desk mates then order them.  4. Let some Ss say their answers Step 5 Talking  Let some Ss talk about their answers.  S1: I always hang out with my friends to lower stress. S2: I like to listen to music to lower stress best. Step 6 Listening  1. DiscussionTry to answer the following questions.1. Who are the speakers? What’s the relationship between them?2. What do you think they are thinking about?3. What expressions do you think they will use?2. Work on 1c: 1. Tell Ss to read the sentences 1c first.  2. Play the recording for the Ss. Ss just listen for the first time. Many of them are learning exam skills so that they can get into a good high school and later a good university.  他们中很多人在学习考试技巧，这样他们就能进入好的高中学习，再后来可以到好的大学学习。  so that & so… that…so that引导目的状语从句，可与in order that 换用。从句位于中常用情态动词may/might ,can/could ,should , would 连用，意为“以便，为了，使能够”。e.g. They got up early so that they could catch the early bus.  （翻译）     为了能赶上早班车，他们早早就起床了。 so that也可以用来引导结果状语从句，意为“因此，结果”，这时其从句中的谓语动词不与情态动词连用。所表示的结果往往同主句有因果关系；so…that…所表示的结果往往表明so后面形容词或副词和程度。e.g. He didn’t plan his time well, so that he didn’t finish his work in time. 他没有把时间计划好，结果没有按时完成这项工作。 （没按时完成这项工作的原因是没计划好时间） It’s so hot that I can’t sleep. 天气热得我不能入睡。 （天气热到人不能入睡的程度。）so…that…引导结果状语从句。so后面加形容词或副词，如此……以至于……。 e.g. This book is so interesting that everyone wants to read it.      He ran so fast that I couldn’t catch up with him.   （翻译）     这本书很有趣，人人都想看看。      他跑得那么快，我没赶上他。 2. Maybe I could cut out a few of their activities, but I believe these activities are important for my children’s future.   当然我也可以把他们的活动减少一些，但我认为这些活动对我孩子们的未来很重要。  cut out 删除；删去   cut sth. out相当于stop doing。e.g. I cut out the paragraph in this article. 我删除了这篇文章的一个段落。与cut有关的短语：cut out  切断    cut off  减少……的数量, 停止向某人供应某物      cut up 切碎3.
