First aid for drowning

When you see someone drowning, you should do the following right away.

First, get the person out of the water as quickly as possible. Then clear the dirt, sand, etc. in his or her airway in order to get him or her breathing freely. If he or she isn’t breathing, you’d better perform first aid to start his or her breathing immediately, using mouth-to-mouth method, while you should dial 120 or call for help. Continue giving first aid and don’t stop until the ambulance arrives.

In a word, life is the most important thing, so we can never be too careful. Obviously, a knowledge of first aid will be of great help in our daily lives.

Dear Tom

Last Friday, our school invited Doctor Lin Hai to give us a lecture on how to give first aid in case an accident happens.

Doctor Lin said that if an accident happens, we should first check whether the accident scene is safe or not. If it isn't, move to a safe place at once. Furthermore, we should call an ambulance immediately if someone is seriously injured.
