South Korean officials say North Korea fired the missiles throughout the day Saturday, launching them in the morning, early afternoon, and early evening.
The missiles were apparently launched from a facility on North Korea's east coast, and are believed to have flown nearly 400 kilometres each.
The Foreign Ministry in Seoul issued a statement calling the launches a “deliberate act”and expressing “deep regret over North Korea's continued acts to increase tensions in Northeast Asia. ”
South Korean officials say the launches break the latest United Nations Security Council Resolution 1874,passed after Pyongyang's nuclear weapons test in May. That measure forbids the North from launching any missiles.
The test launches set off with the United States' Independence Day holiday, drawing comparisons to North Korea's test of a long-range missile on the July 4 holiday three years ago. The North's May nuclear test fell on the U. S. Memorial Day holiday.
On Thursday, North Korea fired several short-range missiles as talks between North and South Korea concluded without progress,South Korean Defense Department spokesman Won Tae-jae says such launches are aimed at getting the South's attention.

Animal experts in Croatia say a bear has learned how to trick people into letting him in by knocking at the door.
They believe the 220-kilogram brown bear probably learned the trick while nudging (轻推) a door to get it to open.
Experts have a guess that the nudging was mistaken by the owners for knocking and that the bear, pleased by the result, repeated the trick.
The Loknar family from Gerovo in western Croatia said the bear had knocked at their door three times and they were now refusing to answer the door.
“We jumped out of the window as he came in through the door and went into the kitchen to take some food for the first time,” Mum Nevenka Loknar told a reporter from a local newspaper. “I opened the door and saw him standing there and I didn't believe my eyes at first, then I ran for it as he walked in as if it was the most normal thing in the world.”
Bears are a common thing in the woods around here, but no one has ever heard of a bear that knocks at the door.
Mum Nevenka Loknar said,“The bear is so intelligent. It's incredible. We've tried to put up lots of obstacles to stop him coming in, like a wire fence but he still gets through. I wouldn't be surprised if he knew how to use wire cutters (钢丝剪).”

At 12 years old, I was at a very hard stage in life. My mother was a very famous softball (垒球) player who also acted as my coach. Night after night, I would try my best to impress my coach. Unfortunately, game after game, I would strike out (出局). I just felt like a terrible disappointment to my mother.
One summer afternoon, my mother told us we were going to visit Uncle David. Since we lived in apartments, going to the country was quite a pleasure. Besides, I hadn't seen Uncle David for quite a time and I missed him.
When we arrived, my uncle and cousin Jeff were throwing metal rings at two holes in the ground. I was so curious that I went over to watch. Noticing that I was standing there, my uncle asked if I had ever played washers.
Being a “city girl”, my reply was that the only “washers” I knew were the ones that cleaned clothes. Then Uncle David explained that the metal rings they were playing were called washers. He then taught me how to play the game.
Later, as they began to play, my uncle asked me to join them. Gradually, I found myself not only enjoying but also wanting to win this games. At last, with the help of Uncle David, I had actually thrown the washer into the hole!
In the months to come, this small success in washer playing helped me to gain back some selfconfidence lost when I struggled with the game of softball.
Although 23 summers have gone by since that day, I have been remembering that summer afternoon in Uncle David's backyard, which always made me feel like an “all star” in my life!

Sport is not only physically challenging, but can also be mentally challenging. Criticism from coaches, parents and other teammates, as well as pressure to win can create too much anxiety or stress for young athletes. Stress can be physical, emotional, or psychological and research has indicated that it can lead to burnout. Burnout has been described as dropping or quitting of an activity that was at one time enjoyable.
The early years of development are critical years for learning about oneself. The sport setting is one where valuable experiences can take place. Young athletes can, for example, learn how to cooperate with others, make friends, and gain other social skills that will be used throughout their lives. Coaches and parents should be aware, at all times, that their feedback to youngsters can greatly affect their children. Youngsters may take their parents and coaches' criticisms to heart and find faults in themselves.
Coaches and parents should also pay attention that youth sport participation does not become work for children. The outcome of the game should not be more important than the process of learning the sport and other life lessons. In today's youth sport setting young athletes may be worrying more about who will win instead of enjoying themselves and the sport. Following a game many parents and coaches focus on the outcome and find faults with youngsters' performances. Positive support should be provided regardless of the outcome. Research indicates that positive support motivates and has a greater effect on learning than criticism. Again, criticism can create high levels of stress, which can lead to burnout.
32.An effective way to prevent the burnout of young athletes is ________.
A.to make sport less competitive
B.to increase their sense of success
C.to reduce their mental stress
D.to make sport more challenging
33.According to the passage, sport is positive for young people in that ________.
A.it can help them learn more about society
B.it enables them to find faults in themselves
C.it can provide them with valuable experiences
D.it teaches them how to set realistic goals for themselves
34.Many coaches and parents are in the habit of criticizing young athletes ________.
A.believing that criticism does good to their early development
B.without realizing criticism may destroy their selfconfidence
C.in order to make them remember life's lessons
D.so as to put more pressure on them
35.According to the passage parents and coaches should ________.
A.pay more attention to letting children enjoy sport
B.help children to win every game
C.train children to cope with stress
D.enable children to understand the positive aspect of sport

答案:B
35.解析:推理判断题。由最后一段可总结出父母和教练应该变批评为鼓励,以减轻孩子们的心理压力,使他们拥有积极的动机,从而更喜欢体育运动。所以A项正确。

范文:
My favourite sport
Of all the sports, I like table tennis best. I became interested in it when I was very young. I'm fond of Chinese team players, such as Wang Nan, Zhang Yining,Ma Lin, Wang Hao and so on. I think it is not only a sport but also an art, because it is a game that needs strength and skill. The reason why I like it very much is that it is our national ball as well as of great benefit to us. Playing table tennis can build up our bodies, keep us healthy and train our brains. What's more, it can help us to learn to cooperate with each other.
In a word, I like it very much. Though I can't play it well, I still try my best to practise it.
