1．desire n．渴望；欲望；渴求；vt.希望得到；想要
D yu think it is pssible fr a rbt t have its wn needs and desires?
你认为机器人有可能有自己的需求和愿望吗？

(1)desire作名词时，可接不定式或者fr短语作定语，还可以接that引导的同位语从句。
(2)desire作及物动词时的常见搭配：
desire sth./t d sth./sb.t d sth./that...
[注意]
desire作名词后接同位语从句以及作动词后跟宾语从句时，从句常常用虚拟语气，即“(shuld)＋动词原形”结构。
The teacher desires me t cme t schl n time.
＝The teacher desires that I shuld cme t schl n time.
2．test ut 试验；考验

它将由拉里的妻子克莱尔来试验。

test sth.n sb./sth.在某人(物)身上做试验
test sb.fr sth.为某事检查某人

3．alarm vt.使某人警觉；使惊恐；n.警报；惊恐

be in sympathy with sb./sth.赞同/支持某人/某事
(2)sympathize v．表示同情，怜悯
sympathetic adj.有同情心的

5．favur n．喜爱；恩惠；vt.喜爱，偏袒

注意：不能用accmpany sb.t d sth.结构

7．ring up 给……电话
When the clerk at the cunter was rude t her，she rang_Tny_up and tld the clerk t speak t him.
当站台的售货员对她粗鲁时，她就打电话给托尼，让售货员同托尼说话。
I will ring_yu_up as sn as he arrives.
他一来我就给你打电话。

她大叫一声托尼，然后托尼一本正经地说，第二天他不想离开她，而且他并不满足仅仅使她开心。
这是一个复合句，declare her作hear sb.d结构中的宾语补足语，其中declare后面又接了两个that引导的宾语从句，第一个that可以省略，而第二个that则不能省略。
I'd like t tell yu (that) he is t yung and that_he isn't fit fr the jb.
我想告诉你他太年轻不适合这个工作。
